Congrats. Just be careful of the front lip since yours is white.

Hey there landjet. Just an FYI, I am getting new seats for my RS and will be selling the stock seats (black leather w/alcantara inserts). The shop doing the install can ship them to you (I live in So Cal). PM me if you're interested, as I tried to PM you, but short on posts.

Cheers,
Laguna_Dude

I just noticed I didn't answer your pm. Sorry, but even if I do change the seats, I will not be selling the stock seats.

I am actually reconsidering changing the seats as it seems the airbag cannot be disabled when switching seats and I cant afford to lose that function. My little ones need to ride too. Gotta educate the next generation
I did order an RS steering wheel to replace the leather one.

How many miles on your seats? And yes I want them if they are low mileage. I will PM you my email address. What time frame are we talking to change your seats?
Wish I could fly out and pick them up. I haven't been in Laguna Beach since 1968. All I remember is beautiful houses on the hillside with those bright, almost iridescent flowers everywhere. Has it all changed? It was a wonderful place.

Cool that you take your kids. Wish your old steering wheel would fit my car.

Landjet, thanks for the PM! I sent you an email. The seats look and smell new. Just turned 5,000 miles the other day. The smell of the leather gets my blood pumping when I get into the car!

Laguna Beach is truly a special place. Moved out here from Manhattan, NYC two years ago. Best decision ever. And you are correct, it looks like a mediterranean city. Large mountain cliffs right up to the beach, rocky coves and charming homes and downtown. I surf and live right across from my favorite surf spot....stoked. You should definitely make it out for a get-a-way. I bet you'd be shocked to see how little it's changed in that time, as they restrict growth and development. Best time of year is late summer, early Fall. Spring and early summer tends to suffer from "june gloom" (marine layer). And obviously too cold in winter.

///M Kevin, I am swapping out for 996 GT3 seats (fixed back and will accept both harness and stock seat belts). I am getting alcantara inserts to look like the original seats.

Cheers,
Laguna_Dude

Congrats! The car looks great. That's the color I want as well. I think the white definitely looks best.

Is the GT3 really that much more fun to drive than the TT??

Yup thats the plan for the replacement. No point spending $100+ on repaint every time I hit a steep driveway.

Well, it looks like the mod bug bit, albeit very slightly

The original leather sport wheel might be up for grabs if anyone is interested.
