Welcome aboard! I came from a TT also and even though I have a "regular" 360, I agree with you wholeheartedly. Geez, with all this CS talk, you guys have me considering trading my 360 for one.

Eric
Eric, drive one and if you are an enthusiast, you will NOT be able to resist. The CS is a COMPLETELY different drive than a 360. I'm a cab freak too, but the CS (so far) provides such consuming sensory outputs that I don't miss the open top experience on a net basis.

Ben, my 8 year old spent the morning also trying to convince me I need the CS! After reading all your posts (and everyone else's for that matter), my car feels "underpowered." The guy I bought my 360 has a red w/ red & black alcantara with 136 miles. It has A/C, radio, and fire extinguisher (not sure what's standard). I may have to take it for a drive. He wants $201.5k. What's list anyway?

For some reason I thought you had Red? I love Grigio Titanio. What's your interior color? What options do you have? Leather, radio, etc? Any more pics?

it has tan leather. base MSRP is $192 + $785 red brake calipers (i'd rather have had yellow) $377 upholstered top (whatever that is), $1752 leather rear shelf/door mould, $1934 sintoCD player + hi fi system (absolute joke of a stereo but i don't ever listen to it in that car anyway). i have some pictures here http://www.986host.com/gallery/benkea?&page=12

i figured you knew me better than to think i'd have a red anything - especially an f car :-)

btw, $201.5k is a very fair deal. i know someone else who'd pay that in a second if it were silver, titanium, or dark blue.

Sticker/base price is $187,124, plus prep of $350, destination charges of $1350 and gas guzzler tax of $4500. Then you add for any special options, although many items (like shields, challenge grills, carbon fibre, sport exhaust, race seats, etc) that would cost extra on a regular 360 are included in the CS base price. Some common options/extras are radio, fire extinguisher, onboard battery charger, calipers painted any color other than black, deviating color stitching, leather or alcantara headliner.

Ben,

I remember when you were specing the CGT, you were considering GT silver because it's a "safe color" for resale. The same holds true for red Ferraris, thus I assumed! Except for a few silvers, yellows, and blues, most of the CSs I've seen are red. I love your color though - it's my favorite Ferrari color. Very unique with the tan leather.

I'm actually surprised Ferrari even offers the leather rear shelf/door mouldings. I have this option on my 36, but at least I have carpet! It seems to may this would add unnecessary weight!

Really Ben, since we're both "cab freaks," what you and I both need is a CS Spider! That would be one sweet car.

Eric

Jack,

Should've known you would have the answer! Thanks.

Actually I spec'd the CGT w/ GT Silver because it was special paint named after the car. When they started putting it on the 40th anniv 911, whatever the "special" boxster was, and turbo wheels, I decided there was nothing special about it and chose instead my favorite P car color (because it's closest to my real favorite - ferrari's titanium).

Yep, a CS spider would be real nice. I could probably live with the 430 Spider given it has so many of the CS attributes (save for the light weight) but brings up torque to 343!

I don't think you'll ever see Ferrari build a CS Spider. Their view is that the coupe is lighter and stiffer, and therefor inherently faster, so why put all the go-fast stuff on a Spider.

I definetely doubt they'll ever put out a CS spider (it would be wrong!), but it would be nice if they did.

they're certainly not going to build a 360 CS Spider - production will be converting over to 430 soon enough, so there's not really time for that. never mind the weight issues and the focus of the CS and the fact that there's no "challenge spider" to build from .

doody.
