Robert Nearn, London, England
James Sofronas, Newport Beach, Calif.
Richard Westbrook, London, England
Porsche GT3

Quote from James Sofronas, Newport Beach, Calif.
"I have been waiting for many years for the opportunity to drive in the famous Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona and this finally came together with Farnbacher Loles and GMG. Greg [Loles] and I – fellow Greeks – have known each other for five years and have looked for opportunities to work together with our respective race teams. We at GMG focus more on sprint racing, where Farnbacher Loles has an exceptional record in endurance racing, so there is no better team to drive for. This also gives me an opportunity to get a firsthand look into the team and how they operate, from endurance prep to strategy, so we may be able to expand our relationship for future racing opportunities. There is no question they know how to win. I can’t wait to get into the No. 88 Porsche on January 24th for my first Rolex 24 start."

The #88 car put a great run in for it. I wish Speed would show more GT! I want to see the real cars race!
I watched it all on Grand-Am.com. James and Steve were impressive. Steve is actually from my hometown too, so that's cool.

Great driving James. I watched the entire race as well. James actually got some decent air time, including some cool in car camera views, but agreed....more GT would be nice.
The FL #88 looked good out there!

Well after 24 hours of running, this is what the car looks like! It was a hell of a run........we finished 7th out of 31 cars in GT. We lost 2 and 9 laps fixing a sticky throttle and a broken steering hub respectively........if not for that, they would have told me and Richard to run hard at the end to push for a podium. We hope to be back next year!
Wow. The front of that car looks like its been thrashed pretty good. This single race must cost a small fortune in wear and tear on your car.

That was towards the end and they all looked like that but it's mostly superficial. None the less the expense of doing this race is incredibly high but it's like no other race in the world! This car is owned by Steve Johnson, ex Tight End for the Patriots and Cowboys and one hell of a guy, not to mention the fact that he is 6'6" and 260lbs!
This shot is right before we caught some tire debris that knocked our screens apart! This race is all about survival.........stay on the track and out of the pits!

It's wild. I've met Steve a few times before I ever got into the Porsche world. He probably doesn't remember. I was really young. But he had Astons then. I think he still has a DB9. He's a fellow East Tennesee guy. He also used to race with Synergy too and then went to FL.
James, I would have LOVED to see you running for the podium. There were just some unfortunate things that happened to the car before you even got a chance at the wheel!
