I have bought two cars from out of state site unseen.
Beyond getting a reputable shop to do a PPI, getting a buddy to inspect the car in person, and getting a vin check there is not much else you could do better if you were there in person.
Plus, if you explain that you will not complete payment until everything checks out in person then you should not have any issues.

IMHO, It's a big mistake to buy something sight unseen or trust someone else's judgment since we all miss things. The best bet short of flying out there is to hire an independent local mechanic shop to do a complete inspection inside and out. Car inspectors are pretty worth less unless they can put the car on a lift and spec everything out
I agree and that's why I was fortunate to buy mine locally.

Is there something "really" wrong with this car (besides the paint), since you didn't pick it up yet???

Yea im going to buy the car today.
I was being super picky since i couldnt see the car but Adam at autoscope was nice enough to look at the car for me. I really appreciate it Adam! Great guy to deal with, very knowledgable and an enthusist as well.
I just called him randomly because he was in the dallas area and he was willing to be my eyes on this purchase. Once again thank you so much for your time and efforts.
The dealer sent me the vehicle analysis log today which was the last thing I was looking for.
So it should get on a transport Monday and get to me whenever it comes.

Sorry for the late post on this topic but I looked at that car about a week ago while I was at Park Place buying a car. Looked pretty nice! Did you get the car?
