Park Place Porsche

Hello.

Would anyone in the area do a fellow 6speeder a big favor and check out a GT3 for me? Just a quick look around before I send the money tomorrow?

Or if anyone knows an independent inspector in the area please let me know.

I know its a long shot but in case anyone can please PM me.

Look forward to joining you guys in this section soon.

IMHO, It's a big mistake to buy something sight unseen or trust someone else's judgment since we all miss things. The best bet short of flying out there is to hire an independent local mechanic shop to do a complete inspection inside and out. Car inspectors are pretty worth less unless they can put the car on a lift and spec everything out

I made my purchase contingent upon an inspection on the day of pickup. Had recommendations to go a high end tuning shop (not unlike many of the advertisers on this site) and the dealer as a fallback. The inspection revealed crankshaft seal leaks which resulted in a quick price adjustment. Everyone was happy. Drive home was uneventful except for the "Omigod" performance of the "thing".

RUF Auto Centre is just across town; I imagine they could look at it for you, if you can get the car to them.

Thanks for every body's help. Im just a few hours away from making the purchase once the dealer confirms no mechanical over rev, condition of the pccb and a few other things. Its a white one with 5k miles and still has couple years left on warranty so im not too worried about it but I would like some descriptions from third parties.

Im so excited right now and i know its stupid to buy something expensive unseen but with porsches its never a rational decision. If I want it then i have to get it no matter what my head says. im sure you guys know what im talking about.

I will post pictures and formal introduction when I recieve the car late next week.

Thanks again.

I would inquire specifically about prior paint work...they had 2 white gt3's both with low miles at the same price and one was certified. The other one has apparantly sold, but why wouldn't they certify both of them?

Dealer certification does not mean it's a well kept car. For example, I was at my local Porsche dealer and saw a totally black RS with engine and transmission off the car. The tranny was blown needing replacement. I did a bit more research on the RS and it had multiple owners from east to west coast. The dealer certified the RS but I will not touch the car with a 10 foot pole

Yes, they disclosed that to me.

The car im buying had a fender repainted and has an oem rs wing which is obviously non factory paint. I know most of you guys wont even touch the car but im going to really use it on the track alot and on the street so it doesnt bother me plus i used that issue to get a really good price.

I am glad you know the full disclosure. Good for you that you are going to track the car. The most important thing is that the car is mechanically sound. Exterior will get beat up any way on the track

Speaking of RAC, if the white one does not pan out for you, then RAC has a beautiful Cobalt Blue Metallic one for sale.

I bought my 996 C4S from Park Place Porsche this past Oct and they were good to me. I would like to believe that they have good integrity, but YMMV.

Good luck... I was hoping that white GT3 would sit for 3 more years until I trade in my C4S for it.
