A sad day

Yes a very sad day in deed.
Yesterday I sold my beloved '07 997 GT3. Off it went but at least I know it is in excellent hands and will be appreciated.
I have never felt the bad about parting with a car, not even when I sold my factory built 993 3.8 RSR racecar.

Times and situations change and we must adapt. Other projects are in the cooker so one must look for that better day.

I've said it before, it's better to buy used and get the great deal.

The GT3RS is seeing a little more use now but it pales in comparison to my sweetly prepped GT3. Honestly the RS does not satisfy. It will go on the chopping block.

Cheers gentlemen
Ranger

Sad day indeed. However, we know she is in good hands. Now, what are your plans for the RS????

Wow, I could only imagine how difficult this is. Is the new owner on this board?

Why does the RS not satisfy you as much?

Thank you all. Seriously I've never felt so much for a sportscar.

Right now the focus is in another direction.
The E60 M5 project is soon to be completed. A fully built (total internals) V10 TT motor will cross new thresholds. This is the brainchild of ASR Engineering. Will be pushing the limits of the SMG. The thought of 750 to 800 rwhp has a nice ring .
There are several other complimentary components to this package besides the engine build.
More details on completion with dyno and track results.

NorthVan997C2S, the GT3 was exquisitely set up by Champion Motorsport for power and suspension. The exhaust sound was intoxicating and the power unreal compared to the stock RS. It made 35 rwhp more than the RS.
Anyway she's gone and when I run a 10 sec. flat 1/4 mile at 140 trap in the M5 I will forget her. No way only kidding (about the GT3)

She was perfect, but congratulations on the sale.. Your M5 will be so wicked!! My guess is FVD is the first mod for the RS? Or is she staying factory?

Well at least you have a good donor car in your RS, to start another project.

All the best to you and your M5, sounds like it will be awesome.

Don't be a stranger on this board, you are one of 6speeds most knowlegable members IMO.

You'll be lucky if that M5 spends more time outside of the shop than in with that much hp. Better get some extra wide meats on that sucker or you'll be sitting still.

Still don't get the idea of selling a GT3 to mod and M5 to rediculous power levels (for an M5 that is). It's still 4,000 lbs. The stress on the drivetrain is going to be insane.

Congrats on the sale. It's always hard to sell a car when you don't *want* to.

Why didn't you sell the RS, then?

I'm sure a SharkWerks Club kit and some cup-spec suspension on the RS with some Champions or HRE mono/comp wheels will turn your mind around.

Thanks again for the nice compliments of the GT3. There was a lot of love and passion in that car.
In totally honesty I must acknowledge the best (street) GT3 in this country. That is Matt Nunez's GT3. That is one outrageous piece of work done by GMG hands down.
I love to see that GT3 up close some time. I was thinking about the CF roof before the whole thing with the sale came up.

Champion Motorsport has a new R&D individual (he use to be my crew chief moons ago) and new headers technology / design is being completed. Will stay close on it for the RS.

heavychevy I hear you. Your comments are well taken and understood. For this project in part to be successful the M5 must remain daily driver characteristics.
I have hugh trust and confidence in ASR. He has never let me down .

Cheers
Ranger
