I wasnt being feisty and I am glad you posted the photo. I am a gearhead that likes hardcore car stuff and roadracing.
I just want to know what happened to the rear 1/4 panels rear fenders? Is this

Herschel.............I have completely taken apart several GT3s exhaust systems from a 2000-2001 CUP car to the lastest 2004 GT3...............the GT3 exhaust system is virtually idetincal to any garden variety 996 exhaust system. Its not rocket science in all my personal road, dyno and racetrack testing.

You must be referring to the resonnance flaps in the induction system. There are no resonnace flaps or anything eletrocmechanical in any 996 or GT3 exhaust system that is factory Porsche stock.

The 2 photos are 2 differnet cars............BUT excatly the same exhaust system, garage, ceiling, and everything else. Who or whatever compnay is manufacturing this exhaust is making it for everyone. Looks like a nice system............has everything in 1 package. I still feel that a set of catbypass pipes for under $600 US on any GT3 will most likely net more power.

Autometrics Motorsports and several other GRAND AM SGS raceteams in the ROLEX series running GT3 and GT3 CUP cars have found 22+HP DYNOtesting with catbypass pipes and an open exhaust as . So I would submit that the maximum power to be gained in the exhaust system for a GT3 would be the same. However, for street cars that dont want an "earsplitting GT3 RSR" sound that maximum power will be slightly less.

Videos and dyno results in the near future. Fabspeed Motorsports sponsors Rafael Llopiz in PCA Club racing in B stock. 2004 Speed Yellow GT3. Looking to sponsor a GT3 owner on the West Coast and Midwest.

Have a great day

What possible advantage is there in joining the R/L side post cat pipes, what I call a side to side anastamosis?
Seems like more backpressure would result.

Not to mention exhaust cracks, as this doesn't allow for the thermal expansion when the hot engine halves widen away from each other - that's why factory Turbo system has the connecting pleated bellow , as does Europipe, but most aftermarket systems are " rigid " laterally , like this one .

Yes Joe, I was referring to the Resonance flaps on the induction. While using a Cat by-pass may net more peak HP, it effects bottom end performance. The cup cars are more concerned with peak HP's and maintaining Peak HP's, Most road going GT-3's spend more time on the street than track and the substantial loss in low end power would be an undesireable by product of higher peak HP #'s. Therefore using the simple Ford Mustang approach of Eliminating Cats would have an adverse effect on daily driving. As far as the exhuast in the picture, I can tell you that is not ours, We manufacture the entire system as well as all our exhaust products at our exhuast manufacturing facility.

I would like to clear up a few things regarding the Manthey/PSI Exhaust system.
This exhaust system was originaly developed by PSI Motorsports and the Manthey system is a copy of the same system. This was able to be done because the engineer at that time was working for both companies. This will no longer happen because the engineer is now a full time employee of PSI Motorsport.

I hope this clears up the matter

The systems pictured appear to be Mk1 GT3's. Is the same system config used for the current MK2 model GT3?

So the package consists of cats, equal length headers and back boxes(mufflers). Is there an newly mapped ecu for this package?
What is the approximate cost? Any dyno sheets for MK2 GT3's with this system? Thanks.

Yes we have a system for the 03- cars complete exhaust system and ECU Map.This gives 415 hp but on some cars upto 420hp.I will have the dyno sheets available very soon.

Neil,

When you say 415 HP, does that mean you remove the engine and dyno it or do you use the chassis dyno?

How did you messure and or convert to the 415HP number.

I believe the stock GT3 makes 415 HP at the flywheel as is,

It has been reported to make 350 rwhp with a total loss of 16% which makes it around 416 HP flywheel.

Could you provide chassis dyno numbers so we can make a more acurate comparison.

I am interested in a exhaust system for my GT3.
