nice that 7.2 gt3 is getting faster but pro drivers at ring have nothing to do with what we mortals acheive at our track days.
i was speaking to guy who has loads track experiene with his 7.1 gt3 and just got a scud that he tracked for 1st time. no comparison for him despite what herr rohl says. scud has 100 extra hp, electronic diff, f1 trans, etc which might not make difference to a porsche test driver but cut several seconds off a 1 minute lap.

And your point is? Should Porsche hire one of the so called mortals to test their cars at the ring to show what their capable of running? What do you think sells cars? What track oriented buyer doesn't want to know what their potential purchase is capable of. If nothing else it will give them something to work toward at the track.

Scud is only 1 second faster, according to this wiki here.

my point is porsche needs to at least offer things like paddles, stab control, etc bc amature drivers need them to go fast. or at least have the option of having them

fCAR348, I see your point. just like the GT-R. Any idiot can get in one and think they know how to drive. what they don't know is that the car compensates or has understeer engineered into it to be very forgiving at the limit vs. a GT3. And if said car (i.e. Scud) has the same overall potential as let's say a GT3, than its easier for an average joe to reach that potential. so what's better, a challenge to drive fast? or no challenge? to me easy-to-drive fast cars are boring, like my RS4 (don't get me wrong, it's one hell of a car and a great daily, but nowhere near as fun as my RS). And I agree with 911rox, paddles are for girly men.

as an intermediate level driver, my gt3 gives me great satisfaction when i finally get a lap right. ive also used my sons audi s4 on track and i think i might have even more fun with it. i love the confidence awd and esp gives me and how i can slide thru turns safely. i cant and probably never will have the skills to do that in 3.
i guess an expert driver can have more fun in 3, but most others would do better with a scud, gtr, etc.
