Wait list

Ya, had to let it go for business reasons. Went down to Porsche this weekend to see what they had. I have to say, nothing really got me going. My CL55AMG is off lease in 2 months so i thought maybe another Porsche thru my company...could use the write-off (less painful) but just didnt get me going knowing when i drive it off the lot there goes 20k. I have a Lambo Spyder and talk about falling off a cliff! Your right, think i will just wait and pick up a used one..

And Roger Penkse claims, to all who will listen, that he never sells cars over sticker!

Getting one won't be an issue. You might have to wait or do a little legwork but Porsche will build all they think can be sold. Neither the GT3 or the RS are produced in small enough quantities to keep from depreciating so buy it and drive it.

There are currently 60 or so '07/'08 GT3s on Cars.com, about 60/40 GT3 vs GTRS, so you can find a nice deal used if you can't wait.

Here's a nice GT3 with Club Sport conversion:

Or a uique low-mileage RS if that's your flavor:

Getting a new one built to spec may be easier than the previous gen, but it I don't believe it will be easy. The problem that I have had with the used ones was that most are asking in the $90's and many are still in the $100k plus range.

Anyway, I would need at least a $35k price difference between the gen 2 and 1 to make buying a used 07 or 08 worth it. Even then it would have to have less than 5k, which is as rare as finding an 08. You can build a comparable '10 MKII for $120k and have all the great new stuff and a 3 year newer car built your way.
