Question on PCM in 997.2 GT3 - Audio Integration

Im a bit confused.... It seems that in the other models, PCM is standard. For example, on the C2S, it comes with PCM and then you can add extended nav for roughly $2,000. Then, you can add Integrated Audio for $440.

BUT, on the GT3, It looks lke PCM and Nav are a package and cost $3000. Also, if you dont get this package, the integrated audio costs about $100 (instead of the $440) but sounds very basic in function - like 10 years ago basic (ie all controlling is done on the ipod and no control through the car).

Is this correct?

What functionality will the screen have without the addition of the PCM/Nav option?

I dont want nav, but do want a fully integrated Ipod solution which looks like will require $4000 in additional options, which is obviously not worth it.

any input?

thanks!

Std CDR30 AM/FM/CD radio has a much smaller screen than PCM

PCM is a different animal..

w/o PCM you'll get the standard cdr radio/cd which looks like shiet.
don't say you won't ever use nav 'cos you will at some point.

I won't have a car without Nav, but there again I drive my current GT3 all over, 25k so far, two x-country road trips so far. Have used Nav extensively, even in town finding your way to a unfamiliar place.
PCM also has extensive trip data:
To destination, continuous, since hh:mm, obc.

However if you will NEVER use use it...
Just get the CDR30 and be done with it
