Full Leather
Full Leather
I welcome any opinions on speccing my 10GT3 (Early Nov. build) with Full Leather. I (obviously) had it on my tt and did not on the previous C2S. I feel like it's a lot of dough for a little leather, but in actuality there's quite a bit lof additional leather. Additionally, with a GT3 spec it becomes unclear where the alcantara and leather are added; i.e. the spec sheet reads that Alcantara is on the door handle, mirror, center comp. and glove box. I thought it was already there on a base gt3. I realize that leather is in the obvious places like dash, door tops and PCM, but it has become rather confusing.
I'm in the same situation. For now, mine is spec'd with full black leather and aqua blue (same as exterior color) stiching in the doors, dash, and seats. I'd really like to see pics of new owner's interior (leather Vs Non-leather) before I make any changes or leave it the same.
That's full leather pictured above. Notice the stitching on the dash, and new for the gen. II, alcantara on the lower portion of the dash, including the glove box. Full leather will comprise of A, B, and C pillars in leather also.
Personally, I like the full leather. If you get full leather, the top of the door sills will also be leather. Your deviated stichting will look great. Maybe you better head down to the local dealer and take a look at both layouts.
PS: congrats!!

I believe you are right.
I did go to the dealer tonight and compared a C2S with and without. Full Leather for me for sure. It looks so much better when comparing side to side. For me XDZ is a must have with full leather. It ties the PCM with the gearshift for a nicer look, imo.
The leather also covers the rear section under the 1/4 glass.
I appreciate all of the responses.

You are absoluetly right - the full leather option on a GT3 should actually be called "Leather and more alcantara". The basic interior material on the std trim is leatherette - aka black plastic!
Official descriptions are :
Std Interior :
Sport seats with Alcantara seat inlays.
3-spoke GT3 steering wheel with Alcantara steering wheel rim and leather airbag module; Alcantara shift lever and handlebrake grip.
Black interior with black soft-paint finish on plastic surfaces.
Roofliner in Alcantara
Full Leather also gives :
Additional scope of leather features for standard interior: Trim A-pillar/windscreen frame, B-pillar and C-pillar trim, front part of dashboard including airbag cover, uopper part of dashborard including instrument cluster cover, door trim including head iarbag cover, fromt side trims, rear side trims, all leather items in smooth leather.
Additional in Alcantara: Door handle, door mirror, door storage compartment lid, extension of door storage compartment, centre console storage compartment lid, dashboard, lower part including glove compartment.
Its a real con this one - all the press cars that I have seen have had the "Full Leather" option fitted, thus giving you the impression it is standard. Also by the description it perhaps makes you think its replacing the alcantra with leather and therfore you could easily overlook it thinking you will get the full alcantara interior anyway. You dont!!! - without it the only alcantara is on the roof, the centre of the seats, the gearstick and handbrake gaters and the steering wheel.
Really the full leather option ought to be called "Full Alcantara and Leather Interior", and the standard interior called "Half Alcantara and Leatherette Interior".
I'm pretty sure the std interior will look very poor indeed. The standard plastic interior belongs in a Datsun if you ask me... An porsche GT3 ought to have full alcantara at the very least, even if leather is deemed too luxurious. Maybe the std interior is appropriate in an RS, but not in a GT3!
"Full Leather" is a must have extra unless you are obscessed with making the car as cheap and basic as possible.

, you are right. So if the doors will remain in alcantara, I dont think the $3.3k is worth the full leather then.
