I think you are asking if the 997.2 GT3 is more comfortable than the 997.1 GT3? You probably already tested a 997.1 GT3 and it was not comfortable enough for you, and you are hoping the GT3.2 is more comfortable. If it is not, then you are considering a C2S with sport suspension instead.

The 997.2 GT3 is not a big change over the 997.1 GT3, but it is certainly significant for a same model "face lift." For suspension I believe the GT3.2 is using the upgraded PASM from the 997 GT2. According to Excellence magazine the GT2 suspension is more refined and dialed in better overall. It might be a bit more comfortable, but I think it is mostly a fine tuning that makes it better overall; but don't expect any major differences.

The 997.2 GT3 also has new uprights I believe. Other than that, it is about the same as 997.1 GT3 based only on the suspension.

As for a C2S with sport, I don't think it will be much more comfortable than a GT3. The 997 GT3 is amazingly comfortable for a car that is track ready out of the box. Probably what the 997 GT3 is most known for is its ability to be driven on the street and track with unbelieveable results for either usage. Usually the two driving characteristics are not achieved with one car to such a level as the 997 GT3. This ability is what mostly seperate the 996 GT3 from the 997 GT3. The 996 version was not nearly as street friendly, but it also did not have the PASM system.

Lastly, if you are worried about the comfort level of a new GT3 (997.1 or 997.2), then it probably is not the car for you. But if you have never test driven one (not that easy to do), then you should definetely try it out before you decide against it. It is a brilliant car, and could be considered the best in its class at any price (it is by me).

I hope that helps.

I've owned a 2007 C2S, a 2007 GT3 and now a 2009 C2S with Sport PASM. I have not seen a 997.2 GT3, so cannot speak to it. But, I found the 997.1 GT3 suspension / clutch difficult to live with on the street, and the front apron was always scraping on driveways, speed bumps, etc. The 2009 C2S Sport PASM suspension is "just right" for both street and track and the ride height is similar to the GT3, but doesn't have the low front apron. I also found the 2009 Sport PASM to be superior to the 997.1 GT3 PASM on the track - Gen 2 PASM is a huge improvement. If you are looking for a combination street / track car, the 2009 C2S with Sport PASM is hard to beat.

The C2S.2 w/SPASM is still 10mm higher than the Gen 1 or Gen 2 GT3. Add the slightly higher ride height with the lack of a front apron -as you mentioned- and the 997S will scrape far less often. It is interesting and satisfying to hear how good the .2 S is from a track guy and previous GT owner.

Yep, 10mm higher, but that's only about 3/8 of one inch, so not very much (see photo). There's still some scraping, but it's the rubber flaps touching, nothing important. The Gen 2 SPASM with LSD and stiffer springs / sways really are an improvement. No wonder the 997.2 C2S posted lap times right up there with the 997.1 GT3 at The Ring.
