997 GT3 Titanium Exhaust Options
They're longer for a good reason. The FVD's are equal-length headers which is beneficial because you get even back-pressure from all cylinders going into the collectors and into the rest of the exhaust. The Akra is not an equal-length header, therefore will give you different back pressures from cylinder to cylinder which does not equate to efficiency and gives lower power gains as opposed to equal-length headers. Given that Akra designed the stock GT2 exhaust, it looks like they just used the same headers that's OEM then added 100 cell cats and a Ti muffler. What the FVD gives up (200 cell vs. 100 cell) to the Akra in cats, it more than makes up for with the equal-length headers is where I suspect the power gains are coming from as well as a better muffler design.
I only see 4 clamps...
2 (1 on each side) that go from headers to the cats
2 (1 on each side) that go from the cat to the muffler
The other things that you see are fittings ensuring no leaks between the connections. Both exhausts should have that, just the pic of the FVD exhaust isn't assembled.
I'm guessing you quickly glanced and saw the fittings and thought they were more clamps

OmahaGT, Glad you went with our system, you won't be disappointed. By the way the yellow car that you liked our video on is non other than GT3Ranger.
Well said Ranger! Our systems lack the pretty marketing that many tuner's spend big bucks on. We would rather spend our cash on systems that are powerful, reliable and work on the track and street.
I am working on putting our new manufacturer's GT3 systems on an introductory 15% off offer. They have 10 systems for the 997 GT3 alone!
ScottKelly911 is absolutely right about the headers. In fact we don't tend to offer headers for the naturally aspirated cars unless they are equal length....here is a great example of a an equal length long tube header....

Wait, let me add a pretty picture of our full titanium system so that the we can gain some acceptance...

Pretty doesn't win races, power does
Thanks,
Rhonda

Beautiful and excellent decision. I am waiting for my headers from FVD for the GT3RS.
You will be impressed and the sound will be outrageous. You'll never drive your GT3 with the windows up again.
Keep us posted.

Akrapovic really do make tremendous exhausts. I got one on my G450X and even though it was expensive compared to what the competition was offering it's worth while.
Build quality is up there and fitting it myself wasn't an issue, there were no bad connections that needed botching.
Overall, I'm impressed with both the looks, build quality, weight savings and performance increase of the Akrapovic.

Congrats Omaha! When you get it mounted up, please be sure to give us your impressions and if possible some sound clips! I love the new blue tips also!

Apologies if my post came out wrong, I was referring to my purchase of an Akrapovic for my enduro motorcycle.
