GT3 Track Video: VIR Ain't my *****
My buddy and I were there in a black C6 Z06 and a silver C6 Z06 and were running with another friend in a blue Viper ACR. I remember seeing your car there. It is probably the nicest looking GT3 I have ever seen. What an awesome track VIR is and Chin puts together a great event!
Ryan, there were definitely some faster cars/drivers out in my group that weren't shown on the video. And yes, in the 30 minute session, I lapped a lot of cars. I chose those particular laps to post with music because most people find lots of passing interesting, and there were a lot of passes in those 2 laps. Those weren't supposed to be my "fast laps" if you read my first post.
That being said, you are clearly a better driver than I am if you are posting 2:08's in your GT3. So far my fastest lap times are 2:10 and dropping...
I plan on running 2 days at VIR with Chin in November. It would be great if you came out to that event and let me chase you around the track to pick up some pointers from you.
regards,
Dan

I'm using dual Sony bullet cams run into a video mixer, that outputs to my Canon HV30 camcorder. I bought the camera's from a place online called "Hoytech". Good equipment, but the guy is hard to get a hold of sometimes.

Yeah, I remember seeing you guys out there. Chin does put together great events. Lots of track time and always full course passing. I know that intimidates some novice drivers, but it really allows for some fun tracking.
Hope to see you back at VIR in November.
What?!? No likey Metallica?

Hey, I tried to mix the sound of the GT3's engine/exhaust note to be louder than the background music, so I hope that helps you a little.

.
love the video and glad to see someone else also have their wife track with them. It's great to swap track stories with each other. Now only if my son could look beyond the glove compartment lol
Actually, Jack Baldwin (ex- Trans Am champion) was there running in a nicely prepared 997 GT3. I think he probably was running in the 2:07 - 2:08 range so I think your estimate is right on.
Dan,
So nice to see you keeping your car where it belongs, on the track! Great video and great tunes, thank you so much for sharing. You run a nice line and look very relaxed. Swing in the next time you are at VIR.
All the best to Jo!

I always have someone ride with me at least once during an event to try and get pointers, then take 2-3 people out for them to hopefully learn from me.
How prepped? My car is bone stock with the exception of safety gear, rear toe links, pagids, and hoosiers, and I run 2:08s. He must have been taking it pretty easy because I'm sure he's a better driver. You start adding motons, springs, dog bones, and slicks the car should be a 2:04-2:06
