I am confused, how much weight is saved with the no cost optional lightweight halogen headlights? 12lbs each or total? Is the savings over the std. Bi-xeons or the heaver dynamic cornering lights?
Thanks

The 13.2 lb (total) savings is with Halogen and no washer rather than Xenon lights with a washer. So, if you get the lightweight option, you do not get the standard Bi-Xenons. The deletion of the headlight washer nipple is worth the delete option alone; if only you could get Xenons.

Where exactly is this weight savings coming from - deletion of the washer bottle and the fluid? Because a xenon headlight assembly probably doesn't weight more than 3 lbs each, and I doubt a halogen assembly which is basically the same housing minus the ballast can't be more than a half lb. less.

gt3 lights
Thanks for the info on the lights, I am trying to make a purschasing decision between a new gt3 or new rs. If I option out the gt3, ceramic brakes, sport seats engine mounts, leather, etc. Iam at 131k, a bone stock rs 133k. The cash runs out at 135k, tough decision.
Thanks

You guys sure the fluid is any of the weight difference? I thought the weights we see are "dry".
So then we are only talking:
Ballast, lenses, reflector, high voltage wiring, plus the washer bottle, pump, nozzles, valves and plumbing. Seems like a lot of weight for those items but could be.

Honestly, I don't see why ANYONE would choose the no cost Halogens. Even for a dedicated track car 12 lbs. is next to nothing and you're better off saving the weight somewhere else. If this were a Cup Car, sure that makes sense where every ounce adds up. But this is a street car. Get the Bi-xenons and if weight savings matters that much, then take them out, put them in a box in the garage, then go get some halogens through Porsche Motorsport.

The safety factor of brighter headlights is worth the 12 lbs.
As far as the washer nipple, get it painted to color and be done with it...

With 1.9% financing rate or leasing rate through the end of the month, I think this makes a GT3 more affordable than ever. Be sure to post picture of your new GT3 when you get it please. Good luck and let hunt begins!
Agreed!
