Exxon Valdez in my garage lol

I followed a nice DIY on oil change for my RS yesterday and OMG the dry sump oil reservoir pour like an elephant with dysentery! It overflow my high tech K-mart $4.99 oil collector lol. I was definitely not prepared for the gush of oil and it went all over my garage floor. Thank god for epoxy floor and after one roll of paper towel the spill is all mopped up - no animal were harmed in this oil spill incident except for an eight legged insect

Will definitely get a deeper collecting funnel next time

Yea when the plug comes out so does the oil. You have to have it really close to the drain or it will splash out. Ask me how I know

Glad no animals were harmed.

Next time avoid the yellow catch spout and dump it into the main reservoir. I also let me drain plug drop in the oil and use a magnet to fish it out when it is empty.

I think I am going to use Glad garage bag next time to catch all the oil first

Yes it is, my Touareg has the same amount of oil, as well it has twin drain plugs...very messy job if you aren't careful.

Some how that doesn't surprise me!

I would have also thought that you had a system like Bond that shot out the old oil at Vette's, Mazda's and other GT3's!

Did that once with my 930 many years ago. Eventually got this easy-drain plug gizmo that takes the place of the drain plug, has a little ball-valve mechanism...voila! Never spilled a drop since. Haven't looked around yet to see if there is one available for the GT3. Anybody know?
