can you switch steel and pccb rotors?

can you guys confirm whether one could fit pccb rotors in steel brakes to save weight on the street??? [switching back for track use].

i was told by a usually reliable mechanic today that one could just switch rotors back & forth

i know eveyone with pccb rotors in good shape wants to sell them cheap, just to clear out the garage.....

The fronts are a direct swap... the rear needs different calipers due to the different diameter of the rear rotor. (330mm steel v 350mm PCCB) It may be possible to fit a 10mm spacer to use the standard rear calipers with the PCCB rotors.

Watt,

Did you buy Scott's GT3? If so, any big plans for it (i.e., will it be the toy and the CS your DD)?

Wouldn't you hav eto be concerned about the pads as well? I thought the PCCB used different pads (the black with yellow strip that I am now using) then the steel brakes.

Although I guess as long as you under there changing the rotors.....

No, The yellow pads on the GT2 PCCB are the same as the steels on the GT3.

The pistons on the PCCB are different, ceramic backed I believe, to prevent heat transfer to the fluid.
