6Speeder opinions sought on GT3 and CS
Been tracking my 996TT a fair amount now the last 4 yrs and have progressed along reasonably. Car is appropriately modded. But... I made the mistake of driving a 997GT3. The difference was huge. I have a buyer for the TT once it's back to stock and would like to get a new GT3. Here is my question- I also have a Stradale, that is a garage queen. No track because I have been reluctant to do so. The GT3 felt so good, I'm considering bailing on the CS. Great car no doubt, but would be much more expensive to track and maintain, not to mention the accompanying depreciation- which is already bad. So that makes it an expensive Sunday driver. What would you guys do?
i have a 997 turbo and a 2010 gt3. without question, the gt3 is a far superior car and with both modded, i am amazed that the turbo does not out run the gt3 in a straight line. now i have not done a full drag race to infinity, but in the situations where i have raced them together, the turbo just keeps up.
the gt3 is THE car.
i use the turbo as my daily driver now and the gt3 is the FUN car.

I have more track miles on my GT3 than I care to mention; but the car has been ABSOLUTELY bulletproof. The Stradale is beautiful but much too costly to track and will not perform with the GT3 either. TT's are a lot of fun; but again not a track car. Get the GT3; you won't regret it.
Agree with the comments so far. It's not an issue of whether or not to keep or get a new TT. I know the GT3 is well suited for me. As you point out, the CS is a beauty, but the utility is limited. So not having unlimited funds- bail on the CS?
continue tracking -- GT3 without question
what are the specs on your CS? If it is TDF blue over black with no stripe... I would have a hard time getting rid of that... :-)

If you can get out of the CS without taking more than the usual beating; I would say bail. Below is link to only vid I have with a CS on the track. Not posting for comments although I'm sure I will get some pointers. It goes to your point because after we got off the track the guy told me he was so scared of damaging the CS that he couldn't drive it hard. If you can't drive it; what's the point?!

I dont know man. I would think about it for a while. It's a tough decision. I have a 993 C4S that I bought new. Will never sell it. Then got a 430 and loved it, but was too expensive to track. Got a GT3. Not so inexpensive to track either. Have tracked that for 2 years. I sold the 430 a year ago before they tanked. Got lucky. Same story. It became an expensive sunday driver. Too many cars.
But, a Stradale is a special car. Classic. I could buy a 430 now for 75k less then I sold it for but the CS has held value pretty well. The new 458 doesnt look to have the classic line of the 360/430's. I drove at a Ferrari track day in NJ last week. Those guys track the sh*t out of those cars. My buddy(Z06) and I were going at it with an F40. This guy came with a trailer and mech. Has 28k miles on the car. He decided to drive it home from the track a few hours. Everyone is different. I would love a CS but too many cars. It's not all about the power. I have great fun in my 260hp 993 on the street.
Sorry for the ramble.
Now I'm really confused

Scott,
If you are keeping the TT but want something more track oriented or possibly something JUST for track and you like Ferrari; here is something.
The 2004 Motorola 360 Challenge Pacecar is for sale in Houston. Complete race prep except it has a passenger seat - which is actually pretty cool I think; including Motorola communication system for pilot & co-pilot. It has resided at my local track for the last few years and I can tell you it hasn't been used alot and never in any door to door racing. It could be had for <100K. I want the car myself but have been told I need to get rid of a boat or a car to do so; so I'm out. The only concern again would be the cost of tracking over tracking GT3.

Easiest would be to would keep the TT and track the CS.... That's what it's designed for! Then sell TT and get new 998 TT when it comes out. Or sell both and get new GT3-RS. Can you post pics of your CS? Thanks.
