CGT OEM Baubles and Stuff...

Does anyone know where I can get a checklist of everything that should come with a CGT? I’ve read through the manual and pulled out as much as I could, but I could still be missing something.

e.g., various covers, keys, code cards, tools, straps, manuals, luggage, charger, etc…

I’ve got one in PPI but I’m not an expert on the car so I’m sure something can slip by. And, the Porsche dealer is not much help since the car is not current.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Pictures of existing car's stuff would be excellent. I've seen them in the past in ads, but still are not sure they're complete.

Thanks,

Tim

This is my list so far:

2 main keys
1 spare key
2 storage trays, one in each door end
5 piece luggage set (travel bag, clothing bag, briefcase, hanging bag, center console bag)
Left engine storage: emergency kit, tire repair kit, screwdriver, compressor, recovery eye with screws, front towing eye,
Right engine storage: warning triangle
2 roof fastening straps with foam part on strap 1
2 roof bags
1 car cover
1 trickle charger
1 wheel socket
Window sticker
????? manuals ?????

Have I missed anything other than the manuals?

Thx - Tim

Mine also came with a different seat bottom cushion that I think is a bit taller than the other.

Don't forget to look for the Becker code card for the radio security in the manual set.

Never knew that. One extra or two (one for each seat I assume)? Any idea on the manuals that came with it? e.g., operator, stereo, etc...

Thx! - Tim

Good one. Are there any other code cards, like for the security system and/or keys? e.g., if you have to get new keys and mate them with the car...

Two cushions, one for each seat. Next time I hop into my car I'll make up a little list of the books that are in the pouch - as I recall pretty much the same as comes with 911's, but I'll look. Also, I don't have a hard key, both of mine have the built in remote fob, though I might be missing the third key. Haven't tried replacing one, but pretty comfortable that any P-car dealer can handle it.

If you're buying a car, make sure it has had a documented 4-year service (engine out) else you're looking at $10k for that, that's what mine cost, but I had figured into my purchase price calc. The $10k included replacing the helper springs on the front shocks per factory recommendation, by the way, plus a battery etc. If you want to see a copy of my repair order, let me know.

And the batteries in the TPMS sensors wear out after 4 years or so, so budget a grand to replace the sensors (can't just replace the batteries, go figure). This is not CGT specific, applies to any TPMS equipped P-car.

Ah. Let's see, the car is an '05. Using my toes to count, the car in question ought to fail right after I purchase it!

Good point. I'll ping the Porsche dealer doing the PPI tomorrow to see if I can make a deal if they have not been replaced yet.

Great info. This helps a lot, especially in that I have not yet actually purchased the car. Gives me room to adjust.

Where can I find more info re the 4 year service? What is included for $10k?

What symptoms led you to replace the front helper springs?

Any Porsche dealer can give you the 4 year service spec, it's also in the service book that comes with the car. The helper spring replacement was a factory service campaign - there were no symptoms other than the apparent need to further lighten my wallet...
