from C2S to GT3, anyone miss PSM
I have raced several cars in SCCA, HSR, etc that didnt even have ABS but knowing i have the PSM on my C2S is comforting and i think i have even adapted my driving style to take advantage of it.
Anyone else have trepidation about losing the safety net of PSM when you changed to GT3?
thanks,
dr

I traded my C2S for a GT3, losing PSM in the swap. I don't miss it a bit.
I'm way too boring on the street to care and on the track I turned PSM off, so the reality is that there's little change to my driving or safety as a result.
My GT3 is a DD so I do sometimes miss the softer suspension. I'm also painfully reminded of the lower ground clearance every single day.
Still -- I'd do it again in a heartbeat. The GT3 is doubleplusgood.

I've had several cars with different types of traction/handling control, including a 997S. The best of the bunch in my experience is in the new ZO6, Chevy got it right with that one. But regardless, I think most drivers are well advised to learn their car to the point of being comfortable on track with the system off. I certainly acknowledge its value in the event of something happening beyond the driver's control, fluid on track, etc., but it shouldn't become a crutch. I recently bought a used '05 GT3, and am looking forward to my first track event with it this weekend. I don't think the lack of PSM should discourage your purchase.

my gt3 should be on the truck anyday now. the gt3 is said to be more buttoned down than a c2s so its larger performance envolope should make up for lack of psm. i have gotten myself in to trouble with my c2s as well so psm is not imo, as effective on a 911 as it is on my c6z. i can feel it correct on the z but the c2s not so much.
below is a video on the handeling characteristics of the gt3.1

I went from a Cayman S, & never turning PSM off, on the track, to 2007 GT3. I was concerned about that change going to my first track event in the GT3. By end of first session it was forgotten. Really, I never think about it. I sure noticed the addition of LSD immediately, among other things. Power, sound, grip, clutch & shifter feel, .....hard to imagine anything better. You will love it.
