The last factory 962 rolled out in 1991 and is (was?) owned by a gentleman in Ohio. I just discovered that his car burned in a fire last year and it looks to have been destroyed. If the car pictred above is a true factory car as raced by Derek Bell & Jacky Ickx, it is not a '94.

One of the finest sports prototypes ever made. World Champion many times, LeMans winner many times , Daytona 24 many times, Watkins Glen many times, IMSA winner many times. Unbeatable until the FIA rules were changed in the mid 90's. when March, Chevy, Jaguar, Nissan etc. prototypes took over.
Super valuable if it was an actual team car. Probably the best known car in the USA was the Al Holbart Lowenbrau car.

That's true. Storage area which housed that car and others was burned to the ground.

The 956/962 was the most succesful prototype race car ever, winning more races than any other prototype racing car in history.

Thats the same guy who owns this car. This is his replacement. Right now its setup up with a tt 2.8 I believe. They still have some other engine from the old car that will fit. I think he said maybe a 3.0.

This was an actual team car. It was the thirdstring car. It never actually saw race time I believe, but was setup to race.

My tuner is Hutter perfomance. They mainly do GM work, but they are very knowledgeable about most cars. They build some pretty crazy engines for a lot of race teams including Dale Earnheart Jr. The day I took this picture the was testing a engine they had just put together on their engine dyno and it made over 1800hp all motor. Theres always crazy race cars drag strip and road course cars coming through that shop.
