This had to cost a fortune, but where does it go now? Autocross only? I imagine you'd have built up some aero if you were going on the big tracks. Or is this just a project.

Incredible project, really a milestone.

It is a 996 GT3 Cup motor, correct? somewhere I thought it said 997 Cup motor.
380 HP 3.6 liter?

Ranger, I suspect you'd need a carbon tub or similar to get to this weight with a 997 base. The 997 is physically larger and has more features- I'd expect the older factory RSRs in the 2400 lbs range are are the practical limit for something still resembling a 997 chassis, and that would be pushing it, where we're less than 2050 dry...

We're still working on the aero- removable front splitter and rear decklid with wing. It's street/ track/ autocross, and I'll probably do One Lap of America with it again this year.

Yes. That year was rated at "400 hp" with the factory programing and exhaust with cats. Supposed to put out significantly more with a better exhaust and tuning, but we haven't dynoed it yet.

The GT3 cup motor is tricky for weight distribution, as it's heavier than the 3.6L air cooled motors. We moved the oil tank forward, subtly shifted the rear axle back and shifted the motor and trans forward, all in the name of weight distribution. The result is that it's basically back to normal despite the motor. Of course it's got enough power that a little extra weight over the drive wheels wouldn't hurt...

Yea, I had a 3.6 VRam with cams in my last car, a '70 911, around 2200 lbs. Great car. This is a totally different animal, though- shockingly faster, revs much quicker, lights up the rears on demand, even with 315 R compounds, up through about 80 mph. It's a beast Not sure you'd want to go there for a pure street car
