Wink PVX: How to drop 1000 lbs from a GT3:

I thought some of you guys might appreciate my new project car- a couple pics are attached.
We're currently at 2150 lbs with fuel, probably more like 2180 when the interior is done:
Sounds nice

Thanks guys- I figured some of you would appreciate it...

It's based on a '69 912 chassis, perhaps the lightest LWB chassis save the first 500 RS cars. The only systems left intact were the steering column and the doors- everything else was changed.

Sweet Build!!! I as well would be greatly interested in more build pics if possible.

Interesting radiator placement, does it keep sufficiently cool under regular driving?

Most of the liquid cooled conversions (V8 and Subaru) have the front trunk cut up and radiator placed in front taking up most of the cargo space.

Thanks guys- Here's a little more back story to the build. Roughly 5 years from start to finish:

Started with the cage- one of the issues with the early cars is the chassis are not terribly stiff...

I did some FEA on the cage design to maximize torsional stiffness...

The fenders, roof and front bumper are all custom. We moved the rear wheels back slightly for weight distribution and designed the fenders to match:

We shifted the engine and trans forward as well. The 6 speed and rear pickup relocation required us to make some room, and pulling the rear seats and replacing them with aluminum panels saves more weight:

A new zero hour 2006 GT3 cup motor was a spare for a race team. Fits nicely and bolts right up to the modified 993 six speed- gotta love porsche!

Paint, always an inspiring part of the project... Almost done (sure...).

BTW Alex and James from Sharkwerks remember this thing from 5 years ago... It's been a long road, but very worth it...
