09 v 2010 Cup Car differences...

thought someone up here would know it dead cold...

the new 2010 Cup car is a wide body machine.

Is the 2009 Cup car "grand am" version the same wide body rear?
same horsepower?

someone who suggested they knew it well suggested that was the case. that the new 2010 machine was pretty similar to the 2009 Grand Am cup Car.

a friend who is going to do a tad of racing next year, club races and some other events, is considering either the 2009 Grand Am, or a 2010. Price is pretty close if i understood him right.

no idea how to advise him. just not my area of experience.

thoughts? ideas? ..much appreciated.

A LOT!

ha ha

Basically look at the specs of the 997.1 GT3 RS and the 2010 997 GT3 RS and that tells the story.

Basically totally different cars!

415 vs 450 HP
3.6 vs 3.8 liter
widened track
new gear ratios
more torque through entire tq band

if he has the money to spend.. get the 2010.. it will have a much better resale value also.

From what i have heard most of them are spoken for and PMNA give preference to teams and individuals that are racing in the porsche sponsored/sanctioned events
