Thanks!
2 cars w/2 seats + 2 small kids = limited use.

Any idea of parts cost or necessary mods?

Thanks! I found the article on RL. Doesn't seem to be a big deal to do.
Maybe I'll keep the car now.

Hey Pete,
As in my PM, I was referred by Bill Dougherty of Dougherty Automotive, West Chester, PA to contact Synergy Racing (at VIR). They pull the rear seats/belts out of Carrera S's in making them Koni Challenge Cars. I've already spoken to Kerrigan Smith, their race director and a 6speed member. He would be able to supply the parts for such a conversion.
I plan on taking my upcoming new/used GT3 to numerous tracks next season, not just to learn to drive, but to spectate other events...can't go to those shows without my trusty co-pilot, 6 year old daughter. I'm teaching her "the need for speed"!

Bad enough, I'm desecrating a GT3 but your RS?! Someone please buy it before that happens!

-E.

Yes, but was quoted $5000 for the OEM parts (cushions alone retail for $3500).
If one can source the parts from someone converting a "regular" Carrera to a track car, then you'll save beaucoup $$.

I have an idea for you, my wife has a 997 cab and I would like the GT3 "rear seat delete" trim panels instead of the seats. Maybe we could do some sort of swap? I am down in Maryland so hopefully not too far from you.

The seats and belts were removed when the car was new to install a roll bar. They have been sealed up in plastic bags ever since. I have all the mounting hardware, seat belts, etc. PM me if interested.

Sorry to bring up an older thread.

I know you can't add rear seats to the mk2 gt3, but why? Have people tried to do it and failed? Has Porsche removed any core connection points? In my case, I just want to add rear seat belts and let the booster seats do the cushioning.

in the mk2 they actually reduced the thickness of the metal underneath (used to be 2 layers in mk1, now only 1).
