Short shift kit for GT3/RS?
i think you are right ....
I believe the 997 GT3s come with Porsches version of a SSK. It is not that bad, but I can see room for improvement with it. This GT3 shifter has a much shorter throw than my stock 996 shifter, this is for sure.
The B&M for my 996 has even a shorter throw than the stock 997 GT3 shifter. The B&M gets rid of the plastic bushings that tend to wear out and break. I assume the 997 GT3 even though a SSK still has the plastic bushings.
The only negative I had towards the B&M is that the car is harder to shift in the cold (until the tranny warms up) and it is slightly more notchy. But compared to the 996 stock crappy sloppy shifter, the B&M makes the entire driving experience better. It transformed the car into a better sports car. I added a Techart Alum Ball **** and with the B&M it was like a toggle switch.

Here is what I know about this subject. The B&M SSK has even shorter throws and is even more "precise" shifts compared to the 997GT3 shifter.
It is harder to shift when cold, does feel good on the track. Nice and accurate shifts, but you will need to shift with authority.
I have one in my car, and would be willing to trade for your GT3 assymbly. Drop me a PM if interested, I'm also in Nor Cal.
