Because it''s normally aspirated so all about response. The RGT is their version of the GT3, so think of this car as a GT3 with a V8 and 550bhp, thats what it's about. If you want power you would buy the Turbo-based RT12S which now comes with 685hp.

The RT12 is an amazing street car, but more GT than track, the RGT-8 will be an awesome track-car.

Ruf are also keen to continue to distance themselves from the many other 'tuners' who just tweak a Porsche, whereas they build their own car (the CTR3) and now have their own unique engine as well.

I'd take a Ruf engineered V8 over a Porsche DFI flat 6 any day.

OK, thanks for these pictures. There seems to be several parts that are related to M96/7.7x engine.

Very impressive - Dry sump V8... nearly 125hp/liter... I'm sure this thing screams, I can't wait to hear it.

I agree that it doesn't appear to be based off the cayenne unit, I've been curious what they were up to with this project.

Love the color.. few shades more fluorescent than the Gt3rs Green but striking IMO..
