Salvaged GT3 price
So i may have found a 2004 GT3 i am going to get myself since price is pretty good.
Fully stock car except for Motons all around and some new tires on it.
Heres the rub. Car was accidented and ran over something.
Up top and interior are perfect since car has around 25K miles on it but undercarriage took a hit...
It had the rear Subframe replaced, new front bumper, new radiator and new driver and passenger airbags.
What would you pay for this car? Owner is asking 53K for it which i think is pretty fair.
Car is silver exterior on Black interior and sounds fantastic.
What do you think of the price? Would it be worth picking up hoping to use it for a year or two and then not get killed when i sell it back?

Yesterday, a friend of mine told me that an 04 GT3 in mint condition with 9K miles was sold to his buddy for 49K. This happened in New Mexico. Perhaps, you can find a no story car for equal money.
Knowing that Manheim is not the end all be all, but recent 2004 GT3 transactions have been from US$39.9k ("below" condition) to US$56k ("above" condition) with most tightly banded between US$50k and US$52k.
Having not seen the car, I would put it in the $US38k-$US42k range. My MO (and I have owned a couple repaired salvage history cars, including my current tow vehicle) is a minimum of 25% off of "standard" pricing for the car for any blemish on the title, assuming a high level of repair. You should be able to get into a no stories GT3 for US$50k - US$55k. Funny thing, in May 2007 I was considering a salvage history 2004 GT3. Was looking at a $50k purchase price with the thought that I could use it for 3 years and get out of it around $40k.
I think you can do better than $53k on a car with that kind of history.

Is the car seal gray? Sounds slot like Rad's/Jerry's/Todds car. If it is seal gray the previous owner posted details of the crash on rennlist. He hit and went over a rather large bolder. The whole underside of the car was damaged and both the engine and transmission cases are cracked. Apparently his insurance company stopped the repair estimate at $50k and totaled the car. Somehow it wound up in Canada as another Canadian asked About it on rennlist last week. So if it's seal gray with motons odds are it's the same car.
Look for a thrad on rennlist in the '6 GT3 section. Title was something along the lines of "gt3 a good track car"

if this is the same silver car that was listed on CL from petaluma, the seller was asking 45 (not 53) which IMO is still too high for a car with salvaged title.

53K is FAR too high for a salvaged car, not to mention it will kill your resale value. I've seen clean title cars going for your sellers asking price.

Similar mileage, clean title, Cup goodies - all within 4k

Mine sold for $56k. 9xxx miles with PCCB and mint condition. Of course after the guys takes delivery the phone is ringing off the hook and people are pissed when I tell them its sold. I can't delete every ad!
If it has a salvage title DO NOT buy it. It will be VERY difficult to sell it at a later date. Too many non damaged cars for sale. Buy one of the never damaged cars and you will be happier.
wow it makes me cry to know how cheap cars are in the US,
at any of the prices mentioned above for any of the cars mentioned i really cant see any better performance bang for your buck. im sure no matter which car you buy you'll love it.
