Inquiring About 996 GT3
Update- Saw the car.... The back bumper was scraped up (looked like someone hit it in a parking lot), the front splitter had a small crack, scraped. The interior was decent (wear on seats, carpet and mats were worn substantially on driver's side).
I didn't even bother taking it out. I told the owner straight up that this car would only be good as a track car. He agreed and didn't really say much on the price. He seemed like an honest guy (owner of shop) and was originally going to convert it to a track car.
Oh well, I had a small lapse in judgement.... back on track to find the 'right' car

Hey, from one Steve to another, thanks
I noticed you were from Aurora... I was just there the other week testing an 07 C6 Z06 from the GM dealership. Small world. I'd love to chat sometime about your GT3 and experience with it.
Even after driving my buddies 650hp 996 Turbo S (while super nice... it's terrifying); I can't get a nice, N/A properly sorted GT3 out of my mind

Probably a good decision. I did want to make one comment though. For a decent repair job, 20k is NOT really that much for these cars. I got rear ended two years ago and there appeared to be only minimal damage, but I held my ground and insisted that every possibly damaged part be inspected/repaired/replaced, and was very picky about paint, blending, etc.... My car is PERFECT now and the bill was north of 30k u.s. From the damage I sustained though, you would have guessed more like 12k.

I think the majority of the 6GT3 cars have had a visit to the track. The one I bought looks like new and there's no question in my mind that it's spent time on the track. I don't believe that's a negative, it's really just a question of whether or not the car is in good condition and that a PPI will bear that out.
I like a challenge.... I want to be able to harness that extra 1-2% no regular person can exploit from the car, if that makes sense. I love to track and I love having a car that gives me the same rewarding feeling in return
I saw another one CPO 9k miles in California asking 59k as well on the Ferrari chat forum. I like it because it looks exactly like mine.

I hope this isn't breaking any rules.

Does anyone know of this car and the asking $$? It's absolutely stunning from the photographs...

I saw that car a fee days ago. Its an 05 and I think only 90 came into the US. It has PCCBs...expensive to maintain i've been told but amazing stopping power. Clean as could be looking. I think it was over 70, but you should call them.
Here's the copy from ferrarichat.
2004 Porsche 996 GT3, 2 owner, 9k miles. arctic silver/black leather. car is all original except for clear turn signal indicators (I also have the originals); this is not your usual modded-out GT3. I did have a full clearbra and tinted windows fitted. Car has around 400 track miles with no incidents. Clear, no-lien title. Transferrable Porsche CPO warranty through May 2012 or 100k miles. I have all keys (including valet key), books, tools, records. Asking $59k. Car is located in Los Angeles, CA.

That sounds very promising (fopr the price). The yellow one is too $$ for what it is. I have first hand experience with PCCB's from my good friends 996 Turbo S. They have greater stopping power than the regular Porsche equipped brakes, but have a vague feel for initial bite (almost like an on/off switch). I agree, they are expensive but I prefer to have them as I will be doing only 8-10 track days per year
