Inquiring About 996 GT3
Just bumping the thread back up
I went back to check the same GT3 again (this time it was all cleaned up). When I first saw it, it wasn't detailed and I guess it didn't show as well as I thought.
The car actually looked pretty darn good. I researched a bit more on the price and it looks like the wholesale value of the car is roughly $40K.
The biggest issue I have is clean low km 996 GT3's are going for stupid money still. I don't want a garage queen, I want to track and drive on nice days
The other small issue is most Porsche dealers and specialists I talked to said the car is perfectly fine, great value at $40-45 but it'll depreciate like a stone if I ever want to sell to upgrade later on.
Hmmm... what to do...

I think the additional money you invest for a clean no stories car will pay dividends when you sell at upgrade time. I shopped clean car first and then negotiated as best I could. I may not have gotten the best price but I got a super clean low mile car.
This is just my feeling, others may, and probably will, see it differently.

Always good to hear from you Zer0t... how's your GT3 treating you?
I'm just not sure how long I'd hang onto the 6GT3 for... I'd hope a very long time; However, I do love me some 997.1 GT3RS and depending on future depreciation... would love to get my hands on one some day.

I am enjoying it although it is off the road right now. It's going over to precision motorsports for a light weight flywheel, exhaust and tuning. I need it back by March for an early season track day I'd like to attend.
Can't go wrong with the RS car at all! They are just simply the coolest thing I've ever seen. Good luck with whichever you get. As long as it outs a smile on your face it's a good car ! Hope you're well.
