Driving impressions of 997.1 GT3 vs. 997.2 GT3
Lately, since I sold the CLK BS, I have been thinking about getting into a GT3 again.
Drove the 997.2 GT3 yesterday and 997.1 GT3 today. When driving the 2010 GT3, due to traffic, I really could not open it up but the turn in was definitely sharper and the steering felt very precise but heavier. The car felt very stable and just glued to the road. My initial impression was maybe the car is "too" good. Less drama.
I had already previously owned a 2007 GT3 a few years ago, but when I drove a 2007 GT3 again today, I felt in love with it all over again. The car felt lighter, the front end did not feel as "glued" to the road, and therefor demanded more attention in a good way.
I am not too sure of my impressions of the two cars, especially of the newer GT3 since my time behind the wheel is very limited, so I would like to hear your subjective experiences of the two versions of GT3's, especially if you have owned both.
I don't really care that 997.2 GT3 performs a little better since I never go to the track. Looks wise, they both look good and I would be happy with either of them. For me, it is all about how I feel when driving the cars.

Someone, not too long ago, submitted a good post where they said, if they closed their eyes behind the wheel it would be very difficult to discern the differences between the two cars.

I own a .2 3 and test drove as .1 extensively. I think the .2 has noticeably better mid-range, more power on top and a much more planted confidence inspiring feel to it. It sounds fractionally better to me as well. As far as looks go I much prefer the .2 over the .1, from the cleaner rear fascia, to the CLs, bigger, prettier brakes, cleaner roof (sans sunroof), rear spoiler, etc... subjective, I know.

Thanks for the input guys!
I guess what I am really asking is: Apart from the obvious performance advantage, and the fact that the car is the newest and latest, did the .2 GT3 offer a superior driving experience compared to the .1 GT3? I know this is all subjective, but that is the kind of feedback I am looking for.
As an example, the 997.1 GT3 was much more pleasurable to drive compared to the 996 GT3, the 6 GT3 feeling quite nervous and less refined.
When I drove the 997.2 GT3, I noticed how well it turns in and the very planted feel of the front end. For me, this made the car "too" easy to drive and took away some of the excitement. I am sure this characteristic would be desired at higher limits, but than I never track.
Am I trying to split hairs here or is the 997.2 GT3 "feel" that much better?

i believe the suspension geometry from the 997 gt2 was carried over to the .2 GT3, has less understeer the the .1 GT3. Also is a better daily driver from what I have read and heard, as it handles bumps better and smoother, while being more planted which makes for more confidence thru turns
