Like others have said.... the sport button when pressed only opens the valves at certain RPM's/conditions during acceleration.

If you want it open all the time, simply remove the sensor as shown in the link above. Very very easy to do and takes literally 10 seconds. The valves are energized closed....

However, another mod I have seen is a switch placed in the wiring harness. That way you can either use the OE programmed valve switching or you can use the switch and have it on all the time. I have heard of dealers installing the switch when requested and placing them in the cubby hole in front of the gear lever....

Yes, exactly. This is why it is such a great little mod! It only takes a few seconds to disconnect and reconnect the sensor! You can have it either way!

Try it out, especially if you have a center muffler delete by Sharly, GMG, RSS or whomever, it just sounds great wide open with no vlaves opening and closing at different RPM's.

So if I am understanding this correctly, by not unplugging the valve, the exhaust remains quiet from just above idle to 3k and then opens up when in sport mode?

Hardly seems worth it. If you are getting on it hard, you'll be well north of 5k the whole time anyway resulting in the "loud" setting. Considering there is a probably a little torque loss keeping the valve open in the low revs, I'm not sure its worth it. Porsche probably setup sport mode like that for a reason.

Meh... I'm leaving mine alone
