what exhaust 2 buy....
Anyone know what kind of exhaust the RS in this video has? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xl518WYsq4g
Ran the AWE full system for about 6k mikes. It made a measureable power gain and had an incredible sound. Headers are a beautiful piece of work. Took it off the car when I decided to go back to more of a daily driver street set up. The car is now for sale and so is the AWE kit. Complete system with all parts/pieces in good condition although the mufflers need repair for a split seam/weld. I'm sorry if this post breaks any rules. I am a member, but don't hang out here very often. Ping me as appropriate if interested in the AWE kit or the car! (2008 GT3)
Sharky for me.
Final center muffler only. Just a nice sound from idle to 8K rpm.
I can be on blue tooth on the phone up to about 4000RPM, so about 85MPH.
It is just loud enough on track and sounds beautiful going around town or track when you hear to car drive around.

just get a by-pass; don't waste your money with a full aftermarket system. for the price, it's epic... it reduces rear weight, add to sound and is a fraction of the price, plus i don't think it voids the warranty.
I just added the by-pass to my RS, and it's all you need. The sound note of the car in sport mode is amazing, but not obnoxious. I met Alex and the other guys at Sharkwerks, and I have to say that they are amazing down to earth guys. Very happy so far with the choice of company and by-pass. You cannot go wrong.

Keep revvin' and having fun
Sharkwerks Track Exhaust is my recommendation. For those that are curious how loud is loud, WOT you will scare people, but if you keep it between 2800-3200 RPMS, you can cruise around and easily have a conversation in the car or listen to the radio. Being this is not a daily driver for me, I like being able to get into the car and have that cup car sound, not to mention the weight reduction out back.
Cruising on the Highway. Wanted to demonstrate how liveable this exhaust is when you keep it between 2800-3200 rpms on the highway.
I can easily listen to my music driving down the freeway. Again, its all in how u drive it, yes there are times were its loud inside depending what rpm Im holding at, but if its at an rpm where the exhaust is particularly loud, ill just shift gears to put me out of that rpm range (usually down shift to bump the rpms up into the sweetspot u saw in the video). I know at the end of the day its all personal preference and what we consider tolerable, but for me I wouldnt put anything other then the track exhaust on.

***I am not affiliated to Sharkwerks in any way, I am just trying to provide information for those considering exhaust options on the GT3. I know when I conducted my search there was not a lot of info on the track exhaust in particular other then people saying "Its Loud, get the bypass." So Im just trying to provide examples that hopefully help you in your decision making process. The videos I posted sound more realistic when heard through a good set of speakers, preferably with a sub-woofer. ***

I think your post is great, Great videos showing the true sound. Thanks for that and after listening and watching your vids i think I am sold on the track set up for my own car. really isnt too loud at all. I think when your standing outside and it rolls by it may be loud but then again lots of pipes are loud at the side of the road. Sounds good. With the added Weight it's a must have
Roger that;( Bummer! I could tell it was likely from china with the way the polish is;( Also keep an eye on that flange for the tips. It looks awful thing there and not enough welding on it;(
