Question 997.1 GT3 RS wing vibrate problem

Hi guys,

My rear wing at speeds above 130Mph vibrates a little bit, i can see it doing that in my rear view mirror. At lower speeds its does not vibrate.
I have already checked all the bolts fixing the wing and they seem very tight.

Do i have to increase the angle of the wing for speeds above 130 mph?

All you guys out there with a .1 GT3 RS can give an input about yours, please ?

Thanks.

I am just going to throw out a random guess and say at those speeds the vibration from the high speed turbulent air is probably normal. Like watching an airplane wing vibrate as it moves through the air. Its probably normal.

Yeah Jason.
I think it has to do with that too.
That´s why i ask to 997.1 GT3RS users if they have the same vibration in the wing at those speeds.

Thanks TurboDogue.
So, you did not have any kind of movement or vibration from the wing, it was just still ?

Just want to make sure that everything is ok and a second opinion from members with the same car is always nice to read.

Thanks.

Maybe your entire decklid is loose? Just a thought if the wing is bolted down tight as you stated....

That does not move an inch, the only vibration is on the carbon wing.
Although i checked every bolt securing the decklid and wing.

Thanks for your input.

I was thinking that it could be some strong wind at that time, but already tried with a low wind situation and it still vibrates a bit. The vibration is not sideways, it´s a up and down. Any more 997.1 GT3 RS users could give your input ? Thanks.

It could be resonating, try taping a small mass around it and see if it gets rid of it.

I have an old (2005) 996 GT3 with the factory RS cf wing and no vibration at all up to 160mph with 4 deg shims...the brackets that are glassed/riveted into the wing might be loose...some guys have removed those brackets by drilling out the rivets and then attaching some other brackets...is the wing oem or one you got from someone else?...the newer wings are adjustable I believe whereas mine uses shims....that may be why the newer ones are vibrating

Thank for your input also, but your wing has a different fixing in the bootlid and it can´t be comparable. Thanks anyway.
