GT3 Willow Springs (Big Willow) Lap Times....?

Curious if anyone has ran their GT3 on Big Willow since the track was repaved a few weeks ago. Curious of their impression of the newly laid track. Were your times slower than before it was repaved? if so by how much?

They just repaved recently? Interesting, I was just out there in May. I'm curious if it's faster with it repaved or not? Nice GT3!

yeah i believe 3 weeks ago. Unfortunately I dont have my gt3 anymore. But was curious. I believe and others there said it felt way LESS grippy and people were running slower than normal. Was curious what some board members felt. Its also tough cause usually u see tire marks for braking zone and lines but there were none to reference and it was my first time there.

I've never run on a "newly" paved track before...did they repave the entire track? There are a few marks on that track that I use for turn in points... braking zones so I would imagine it would take a few laps to get back up to speed if the whole track is new and black. I guess next time out, I'll be able to answer this question. The heat at big willow makes a huge difference, was it really hot out there?

Was about 85-90....and yes they repaved the entire track (Big Willow) not sure about street or horse thief. My first time on a repaved track like that, did not feel good and out in the desert there arent many reference points, yeah on the big straight u have the poles on the left, but else where not much...this was like a brand new black tarmac street with no markings at all!

I normally do 1 29 but I could only pull a 1 35... M instructor puts down 1 27 normally and he was doing 1 34. And he lives on track... First time I've driven in a newl paved track. On turn 8 we both had to tap brakes to get he corner correct. Normally ur flat out through 8 .....

best i got was 1:45:2x, most of my laps were 1:45 so i was glad I was slightly consistent. Im driving a C63 p31 stock, the damn car understeers so much and the stock continental contact 3 tires are not so good!!! You were on my *** 1 time thru turn 8 didnt realize till I braked, hope I didnt get you off guard as well my car could hardly hold 115 thru turn 8 and it was start going wide. It was my first time on that track. Some guys in modded M3's (suspension and good tires were getting 1:37-1:38.

Here are lap times from pro's etc... also good to know you guys were 5-7 seconds off pace, that my times werent that bad, track was off

Your c63 sounded sick . Those are great times you had. I drove a stock c63. At streets and it was pretty crazy. I'm assuming those times are for stock cars.. I have a lot of suspension work and hoosier r6( which were toast after noon) and about 600 hp or so.

Did they paint any markers? like the dashed lines before turn 9, etc.? Are the dips still there? Like at turn 2. Is it smooth tarmac? I'd say it makes sense that it's slower, as less rubber has been put down.

No the dashed liNes are still there at turn 5,6, and nine and the reflectors still a turn 1. I think we were one of the first groups on it. Glad they didn't do streets since PDS this upcoming weekend. Turn 8 was screwed and I actually had to tap brakes in order to get the car turned the right way. Usually halfway onthrottle through 8. And I run a gt cup wing... But always a fun track.

Crazy a Carreras s is faster than a turbo around willow according to the numbers XD

yeah im sure those #s will vary, different days, drivers, conditions etc...but to get a general idea. I still cant find what a C63 runs there.

GT2turbo was wondering what speeds to you hold thru turn 2 and turn 8...just curious what a car on slick will do....never driven on them. Best ive driven on is MPSC but on streets of willow.

When I'm in the 1 29 range I start 2 at around 80 and by mid way I'm at mid 90s.
This weekend I was around 85 mid corner.
Turn 8 I'm doing around 135 when I look lol. Maybe a little more.
This weekend I was doing around 125.
I'm terrible at begining of turn 9 but exit decently... At around 95

I lover Hoosiers they really grip well. But when u do lose it you better react quickly. But they probably help out by 2-3 seconds a lap.

Thank you for the heads up on the track. Never been on a newly paved track either.

Will be at WSIR on 6/22 (Weds) with Open Track Racing. Anyone going?
