Actually i was thinking to do Black wheels !!
Thanks or ur feedback[/QUOTE]

Don't forget that black wheels hide the excessive brake dust from track use!!!

A good choice and for me no problems. Have had customers also buy them - no problems.

FWIW - I bought 3 sets of Allegeritas (18x8.5 F, 18x12 R - 2 sets for Hoosier R6s, 1 set for Hoosier Wets) as dedicated track wheels for my GT3 (previously used on my 997S) from Damon at Tire Rack, who is very helpful.

I now have over 60 track days on the wheels and have been pleased with them. I drive in advanced or instructor groups, am pretty aggressive using the curbing, and have gone 2 wheels off a few times with these wheels. I have modestly bent one of the front wheels a few times hitting a rut at the side of track out, or hitting the curbing through the bus stop at Watkins Glen too hard for the wheels. Each bend was minor and simply felt like the wheel was out of balance. Alloy Wheel Specialists came to my house & straightened the wheels for $100 each. Never bent any of the wheels my Wets are mounted on, as like most people, I tone it down in the rain.

If you are less aggressive, the wheels are flawless. If you are equally or more aggressive, the occasional bent wheel will be an inconvenience. The wheels are inexpensive enough you can fix a lot of bent wheels before approaching the cost of forged wheels.

Life is full of choices and compromises. Hopefully this actual experience is helpful to some of you in making your decision on wheels for the track.

obsessed, thanks for the report. Do you think a forged wheel would have bent too? For the price though the cast OZ's are super nice!

mdrums, can't give you anything first hand on forged bending with similar impacts. One friend who is aggressive racer says his forged CCWs never bend, another says they bend also... CCW says if you bend their wheel you also broke something else - but this is all second hand stuff.

I really wanted multiple sets of wheels because I don't like throwing away expensive tires with 2 days left when going to a 3 day event, or having to park because it is raining. I could pop for 3 sets OZs but not forged. I don't like bending a wheel every 10 or 15 days, on the other hand I haven't stopped intentionally running over curbs to get a faster lap, so it doesn't bother me too much...

I am going to try some forged CCWs in my rotation and can report back in a while with some first hand experience with both. In 60 track days I haven't bent a rear OZ wheel. If you don't obsess about glamour at the track could consider OZ rear, forged front.

Thanks bsessed. I had CCW's on my Carrera S GT3 fitment and they were a great wheel. Hit many things never bent 1 in 6 years of track driving. If CCW made Center Lock wheels I'd have another set in a heartbeat for my incomming GTS.

I'm trying to decide if I want to spend $2600 for cast OZ's, $5600 of forgered OZ's or $4000 for forged 3pc Forgelines.

I sort of prefer 1pc wheels because I know they will not leak. But I've talked to guys with 3pc Forgelines and they claim no leaks at all, ever.

If the OZ Forged were less I'd go that way...the quality of all these wheels would be fine for hard core DE use I'm sure.

i have ultraleg HLT's for the street but wouldnt hesitate to track them. they're a race/rally bred design for crying out, from a company with a long proven history! besides, i've done quite a few track days, seen many guys using them - mostly on GT3's or higher - and yet the only issues i have seen are: bent HRE, bent BBS, cracked champion spoke etc. but never an OZ integrity issue.

the only OZ problem i have heard about is throwing wheel weights at higher speed tracks. esp the black versions. seems like the paint or finish is too smooth for the adhesive or something? anyway, i've seen a few guys who tape the weights down for good measure.

I can't keep wheel weights on even with foil tape over them but I can really heat up the brakes by the end of a session
