Yeah Alvin don't do 19s... If you want do some of the light weight BBS' or something like that but 19s on that will really put to waste all of the nifty suspesnion set up and geometry. I won't allow 19s lol:P

Yeah, I do... It's a street car though. Who cares about saving a few pounds. The 19's look better. It's not like the car is going to all of sudden handle like **** because he added 19's. If you want to spend the bucks I'm sure there are plenty of ultra light weight 19's.

Keep the stock rims and possibly powder coat them.
Especially on a Silver car. Giving them a smoked effect would look good.

Maybe you're missing the point that some are trying to make regarding the GT3. It's suspension geometry is the department that will be corrupted when moving up to 19 inchers, not so much is it the unsprung weight. It's suspension is nearly perfect. Why throw off that balance for 1" of wheel?

Doesnt seem you do, The car is designed for an 18" application, the suspension is designed for an 18" application as well, a 19" setup will be a bit negative for the car not positive.

What if the 19" wheel/tire have the same diameter as the oem 18" setup?

interesting...should be the same. To maintain the aspect ratio, it will require a 25 profile for the rear. I can see the unprung weight argument, but not the suspension geometry argument unless the 19's are heavier than the original stock 18 wheel. Perhaps the offset would have to be different and that will be the difference...

why? as the wheels get larger, the sidewall gets smaller. my car rides fine with 19's. i drove a car with 20's the other day. felt fine. fill me in if i'm missing something there. it's not like 18's and 19's use the same aspect ratio.

Just kidding.......

. But seriously, Porsche spent a great deal of time and money to optimize the suspension and set up on these cars, tires are a big part of this, it's a shame to toss this away because 19's may or may not look cooler. You could buy reversed rims which are 18 inch rims with 19" centers and have a similar look to 19" rims. I use Kinesis K18r's which are as I have described above. In mho this set up is a win win, best of both worlds. There are several other manufacturers that offer this fitment as well. Be careful that they offer the correct fitment, no spacers etc.. I know HRE offers correct wheels, right offset etc., for the GT3 as well.
