I am not worthy.......

My car is light years better than I am. Spent a day at Motor Sport Ranch today and going back for day 2 tomorrow. Maybe I won't be early on the apex and screw my line up again tomorrow! This is a challenge I am going to take up!

I saw you...and you did just fine for your first time. And remember...it's a GT3 so it's not an easy and forgiving car to learn on. See you tomorrow!

are you going to keep your PCCB on at the track (assuming you intend to keep doing this regularly)?

Thanks, my man......I have some homework to do. Don't be surprised if I am foggy-eyed tomorrow from watching YouTube vids on the track. I am trying to pound the line into my head so I don't fall off tomorrow.

Hey Evil .......Not sure yet, but leaning toward the steel replacement. Talked to a guy today that had a great spec on a Cayman S that had PCCB and he swapped steel in for his fronts and is about to swap on the back as well. At the end of the day, the brakes are great, but the cost of replacement just does not seem worth the price of admission at this stage of my race career. Better to put the rotors in a box and punish the steel as i am learning. Great fun in this, however. New tires are in order after this weekend!

No question of that being the case........This is worse than the most addictive drug. I love my car and have always envied the RS crowd, so my next worry (financially) is that once the gains come on the track that I will somehow justify the trade up into RS territory. I really dig a 10, or 11 RS painted gray with the orangeish/red wheels and graphics. That car says it all, but I now know I have to be worthy. I am not worthy at the moment! Maybe tomorrow!

Bring on the heroin.....

Enjoy your car on the track as is, have fun and learn with it. You’ll hear all the “The car is better than you” clichés. That’s true for just about anybody who’s not a consistently winning pro racer so please stop deprecating yourself. That you've done well enough in life to be able to afford a GT3 makes you worthy of it.

My one piece of advice FWIW. Resist the temptation to start ‘modding your car and trying to turn it into a racecar – it will never be that. At some point – if you’re still into it -- go buy yourself a used racecar instead or alternately a dedicated track car like an e36 M3. This way you don’t need to worry about busting your nice GT3, and you’ll get better faster as a result. You’re only as fast as your wallet.

I'm with you! I know I will never be able to reach the full potential of my RS. But this is really a good news for me, as I will not need to invest into another track car for the longest time.

Take it easy buddy, my car has much more to offer than my capacity as well And I've had about 30 DE's so far.

So relax and enjoy.

hahaha addiction to shaving lap times is something I've very familiar with, I started in my evo a couple of years ago and since then I've bought a 250cc 2 stroke go kart, yes it's not a car but I can't afford to take the M3 and race it all the time because with tires, track costs, fuel etc it's cheap to race the kart and these little go karts are insane. Don't let the 250cc's fool you, it's the hairiest 250cc's I'm driven Once you do it regularly and start to learn that particular track you will get the hang of it. Have fun while shaving the seconds is easy, after a while those little milliseconds will become and harder and harder to shave off when you finally start reaching your own limits and dare I say the car's.gl
