996 Gt2 brakes

I want to stay with PCCB since car is not going to be tracked

Is there any better brake pads for them or you pretty much have to stay with stock.

Also - Calipers - are stock front calipers 6 piston units or 4 piston units. Would it be better to upgrade to Gt3 brakes?

Any info is appreciated

Gt2 and Gt3 brakes are the same calipers. Endless makes a very good PCCB pad but they are around $1000 for the set. I run Endless pads and fluid on steel slotted floating rotors and it's a huge improvement over the pagid yellows / motul 600 combo I ran before on the street and track. OEM PCCB pads are fine for the street though.

driving on the street you need to let the brakes build some heat. trial the brakes for the first block or two and you will be good..

Someone chyme in if I'm wrong but I think Porsche sells both a street pad or a race pad for the pccb setup.. I inquired about this from the dealer for 996 gt2 gen 1 pccb setup... Not sure if same is true on gen 2 pccb??

Cold they are fine. Once they get warm the squeaks go away and they are as good as the 6 pot Brembo race brakes I have on the Z06. I did some laps at the road course and the brakes were just as predictable and reliable on the end of the session as they were at the beginning.

^^^ Atomic are you talking about the Porsche race pad version for the PCCB? I was thinking about going to get the street pad PCCB version since I wont track this car nearly as much as I will drive her on the street. Any input on those? Again this is for my 996 GT2 Gen 1 PCCB equipped car...

No. Just the factory pads that came with the car. I was not pushing the car to limits since I had only driving the car on a short test drive before I put it on the track. I think for the average guy that does mostly street driving that the stock street pads are more than capable. If a guy wanted to get aggressive at the track he probably should change out to race pads but, I have heard they will shorten the life of the rotors.
