First Porsche: 997.1 GT3
Well I finally decided to give in to a ten year urge and take ownership of a 911. I've always loved them from afar. Had friends who owned them. I've ridden-in/driven everything from a stripped down '78 to a 996 Turbo. Raced with the PCA guys everywhere I've ever lived... but never took the plunge until now.
The car is a 2007 out of south Cali. I swore off black cars long ago after owning a couple in my past lives but the price on this one just couldn't be beat. White was my first choice. I'm ok with it though as black seems to be a rare color. Plus the car just looks like a bully in black.
After the negotiations and paperwork the car was dropped off by the previous owner at GMG for few toys to be installed, to get freshened up, and for a little tuning. More on that later.
I should have her in-hand hopefully in the next week or so. More to come...

While at GMG I had the GT3 treated to a full WC Sport exhaust incl headers, sport cats, and midpipes. A BMC air filter was dropped in and some maintenance items were handled (oil, plugs, etc). GMG also lowered, corner balanced, and aligned the car for me. Should have a nice, neutral balance on the track now. I'll get to test that out soon as I have a couple track events scheduled in March.
The car baselined 332whp/246wtq and picked up almost 20whp and 8 ftlbs more at 350whp/252wtq (Mustang dyno) after the exhaust and GIAC tune were uploaded. Not too bad! They reported 361whp over the phone but I don't see that on the dyno sheet. Might have been another run was made, or a typo. No big deal either way. Should sound and feel great across the rpm band with those headers.
The car was loaded up on the truck last night and is headed my way! More soon.

very nice car bud. congrats. Most of all I am beginning to really dig the headers gmg is putting on peoples cars latley. Looking like some decent numbers coming from those headers. This and other threads really have me considering a set for my own car.
thanks for posting this. great looking black car, I like white too but damn black just has that mean look. Good for you, enjoy!

I am getting interested in the exhaust mod you did plus the tune. 20 RWH is not a bad pickup. Can you let us know what your thoughts are on this once you get it and test her out?
Thanks for posting all of the pics and describing what you are doing with the car. Again, congratulations!

I am getting new rubber on mine today and am pretty excited to feel how it drives after new Super Sports are put on. It would be nice to pair that with a tune like yours. I hope you get your Saturday delivery. That would be a good day to get it.
I drove a GT3 today, and I was IMPRESSED!!
She arrived today! Just a beautiful car. And I'm so happy to get back into a black car. As challenging and time consuming as black paint can be, it just feels like home.
The Cup splitter installed by GMG is fantastic and takes a beating well (as I discovered exiting a gas station today). The exhaust system is just phenomenal. Weather went the wet way today so I didn't get a lot of wheel time. The short bit I was able to sneak in was really, really fun.
The car is just FUN to drive. I'm looking forward to getting to know her a lot better!
The ride and feel of the GMG setup is just GREAT. Those guys did a wonderful job all-round. Thanks again Allen and Fabryce!!
Hoping to get more hours in tomorrow and start enjoying the honeymoon!
A few arrival pics:
Early arrival! Reliable did a great job. Not a lot of communication, but they were really fast.

There she is!!

Gimme Gimme Gimme!!!

The driver left the key in the ignition while in-transit, which killed the battery. So today I learned how to pop the boot with a donor battery in the fuse box! Interesting method! We finally got her started. I felt bad for the driver because I think he felt bad for not knowing that it would drain the battery. After a quick jaunt to the gas station I tidied her up then tucked her in for the night. It was a short drive, but I was able to enjoy the GMG exhaust which is one of the sickest things I've heard on a car that wasn't running in a Petite LeMans race! I LOVE it!! Absolutely worth every penny.

While the weather was turning, I decided to install the DEPO/Dectane LED tails I had just received a few days prior. The install was a snap and they are BEAUTIFUL and work great. I'm really glad I picked these up.

great addition to the thread. I bet your happy eh, Nice car and It really must have been a good experience getting the exhaust installed. Im sure when you have some more time to drive it you will be happy with the sound. From what i hear the headers are very well made and add to the sound a lot! i love the header design. Cant wait t see more. Very cool pics.
If this is your first porshe gt3.1, what is that in the bay next to your black car? is that a .2gt3? Kinda looks like the front fender flair in the wheel arch if im not mestaken. well enjoy that new exhaust tomorrow, i hope its nicer weather so you can get more pics out on the back roads
ps: love the led upgrade rear lights. looking good with the black paint

Looks great and congrats on getting it this weekend. I just put a new OEM spoiler on to replace my original which was thoroughly beat up. Of course I have already scraped it on the second day of having it. I think I will go with the Cup next time. Is it more flexible?
