So what's going on with this Porsche? Anybody know?
No motor in the engine bay sounds serious.

Hi guys....here's some mid-week updates for you guys on the project:

This week's update is all about weight. Lose weight, lose weight, and lose more weight!! To achieve this, we've done a few things, including remove all the heavy foam padding under the carpeting, adding Porsche Motorsport lexan windows, and adding in a set of lightweight Recaro race buckets.

This part of the job really sucks. That foam gets EVERYWHERE!!

And I think this one's self-explanatory...

How is the Porsche Motorsport 996 Cup shifter compares to the orginal RS shifter? More solid feel and helps the 2nd to 3rd shifting problem?

It's pretty big. We're addressing just about every aspect of the car's performance...from weight, handling, and power, all the way to aesthetics.

We're saving the best part for last. I should be able to drop some engine info soon....hang in there.

How much does the foam on the carpets weigh?

My interior is almost all out for a sunroof delete, and it won't be too much to get to the carpet.

We weighed all the carpeting before and after. The difference was about 19 pounds.

How hard was it to get the carpet to fit correctly once you took the padding out?
