Grilfriend thinking of changing her GT3 for a 996 GT2. As she have never driven or been driven in a GT2 I would like to know what you think is the + and - between the two. The GT2 she has in mind is realy mint and has 500hp and a club sport package.

She has always liked the GT2 for it's performance, posibility to tune and for it's looks.

Been there, done that and went back to a 6GT3. The only thing the GT2 does better than a GT3 is go in a straight line. For track fun I much prefer the high reving nimble GT3 over the GT2. In other works precision over muscle YMMV IMHO

Don't do it, yeah it's faster and more horsepower, but way down on the fun factor, not to mention the additional cost. But to each his own. If you do a Turbo, the GT2 is the way to go, but driving one compared to GT3 is far less exhilarating IMO.

I had a GT2 and for me I prefer the GT3. Your GT3 is a great handling car. I've had quite a few and love the GT3 cars. Have you thought about a 997 GT3? If you do go for a GT2, I would highly recommend a Porsche Driving school. In fact, I recommend them Regardless of what type of Porsche you have but the older GT2 can be a handful. Besides, it's always good to learn more from pro drivers. I love the GT3 cars so much I decided I had to get the RS to feel a part of the car and the turbo for breath taking acceleration! Enjoy whatever decision you make!

Thanks for your thoughts.

I have had a 997 GT3 in mind for a while, preferably the RS... I simply love it. It's a bit more money though. Yes the GT3 is a great handling car, I love mine a lot, was a bit curious about the GT2 but as you say the GT3 is a great drivers machine and I can imagine that it's a lot more agile and nimble than the GT2.

I have promised my GF not to buy another car before I have sold one (of the Porsches the dd's does't count). Why did I do that!!! Stupid of me!
