I'm shocked and sat here staring at the screen in disbelief stuck on the first post ... although I didn't know him personally I always looked forward to his threads either to see pictures of his beautiful cars and family or to gather information from his experiences ... may he rest in peace and my heart goes out to both their families

Very sobering. Godspeed brother. My sincerest sympathies to Ben's family. Though it may be cold comfort, it is nice to see so many kind words for him and his family and to know that you guys will step up and help in this time of need. God bless you all, and let us all keep up our guard out there.

R I P

a sad day when anyone dies and leaves a family and friends.... it is good to know he died doing something he loves from what his friends say here.
the story i have heard is this, please someone correct me if im wrong:
after some lunch laps at cali speedway (laps where you can take a passenger on a sort of track tour, no helmets etc....) he has decided not to take it too easy and was traveling 160+ down the long banked main turn..
the flagger did not know he was still out or traveling this fast and waved a ferrari on to the track. at that moment, the porsche was diving down the the turn a bit (his correct line but at the unfortunate wrong time) the ferrari saw him coming and tried to avoid him.. this is when ben tried to swerve a bit and lost control.
sorry to jot down details but i as others are tryin to know the full story..
again, rip and much love and strength to his family....

It is hard for me to keep my composure right now. I saw a post on another forum which linked to the story on a news site I saw the pictures and hoping it was not Ben. My deepest condolences go out to his family. I am still in disbelief. Ben will be missed, I have not teared up that many times in my life but this is certainly one of them.

This is so sad. Ben really drove his CGT like it was meant to be driven. I will miss him. My condolences to his family.

As I said in the TT forum.....
Ben, it was guys like you with an unbridled passion and respect for your peers that made us create this forum. You have been with us from day one. Always sharing in your adventures and experiences. From being the first to supercharge the 996 cab, to the first Stradale on 6speed, to the first CGT owner on the forum. You have let us all in to your passion knowing that it is our passion as well, and let us remain the great family we all here. Most of us never met you face to face like mysekf yet still feel like you were a dear friend. Passionate, compassionate, and loved. Three words i am sure will be used to describe you Ben.

Ben may your soul Rest In Peace. I know you can read this or at least feel the love we are trying to relay in these dark hours. God bless you Ben, we all love you man. God bless your passenger Corey as well and our deepest condolences to your family as well.

OMG!

I don't know what to say? There really isn't anything to say about this. Ben, you will be missed by many, many people. I'm so sorry for your wife and family, and cory's as well. You were so helpful and the reason I got the supercharger for my car. Wouldn't have had the courage to try it if it hadn't been for your thoughts and advice. I wanted to come meet you when I took my son to Stanford last summer, but it wasn't convenient, and now I'll never have the chance........we really can't afford to take time and life for granted as most of us do......This is a terrible day........... :-(
