4th gear hesitation
4th gear hesitation
I was pushing my 2010 GT3 on an empty freeway a bit today, and noticed a bit of hesitation when I was on 4th gear at around 5,000 RPM where I the RPM wouldn't increase smoothly (once it actually dropped a little before increasing) as I continued to push. It does increase at the end but there is definite hesitation, only with 4th gear but not other gears. Any thoughts? Should I take it in to a dealer?

Whether you should take it into a dealer really depends on your mechanical skills (and wallet).
The fact it's only happening in 4th is a little weird, though I suspect that's more due to a certain RPM/MPH combo than the gear. If you were at 5k RPM in 5th gear I bet you'd get the same thing. You might not in 3rd because you're only at 70 mph.
Given the hesitation, I'd suspect a boost leak. I'd check the connections on the ends of the ICs to start and then work my way along the piping in both directions, concentrating on the side that goes to the turbos.
