How to DIY Rear camber adjustment ?
How to DIY Rear camber adjustment ?
I recently bought a ´07 GT3. Last weekend was my first day at the track...what a blast!!
I was running stock alignment setup and the tires show this as a result. When I took the track tires out (semi-slick ContiForce contact). I noticed that they showed wear on the outside (screaming for more negative camber!)
I did some research and I feel ready to attack the job, at least for the front. I will go initialy only with shims, since I am looking at -2,5 in the front and -2 on the rear.
But, I need more info on how to adjust the rear camber on the GT3.
I have done alignments many, many times, on my track 911, so i understand the issues quite well. and, I own almost every DIY alignment tool on the market (i.e Smart Camber, Smart racing strings, camber gauges, etc).
What I need is a litle bit of guidance on the difference in procedure (i.e. adjustment point) on the GT3.
Thanks in advance for your help
PS: Please, all of those anti-DIY abstain from pushing me to take it to a shop. I have lost trust on Porsche dealers a long time ago when it comes to track cars, and learn that the best way to secure that it is done right, is to do it yourself (specially when you are out of the US).
