frayed,

what main and tender spring rates did you go with?

I tried to go with a setup that is every day drivable. The shortened bump stops allow me to run about 1/4", maybe a bit more, higher than others have to run at with the standard moton. Valving was modified for moderate springs.

Can't remember the exact rates, but I think I went with a 500/700 setup or close to that. I have a shock sitting on my desk as I type this, and the tender has the markings 60-60-28, and the main 180-060-090.

Steve at RennsportSystems tells me my setup is like Mooty's, but with the ability to run a slightly higher ride height and valving to allow more downward adjustment if I need to (with stock valving, the foregoing spring rates will have you at close to the softest settings, and thought that since I'll never go over 1000 lb spring rates, we'd change the valving).

I don't know H&R markings, but Eibachs (which I'm more accustomed to) were easy to decipher length and rate.

I think it means ..and I could be very wrong here.

Length...180mm spring size...060 mm....90 N/mm....lbs- 514

I could not find the tender. part#...
60 mm length ...60 mm... 28 n/mm was not listed but it's around 165lbs.

The rear is most likely....180 60 130/140 743/800 lbs
could you post the rear numbers
thanks,

I'm not sure why people have a hard-on for the RS stuff. Better suspension geometry perhaps, but the RS dampers aren't fundamentally different than those on the standard issue GT3 which is simply a height adjustable bilstein.

bingo, i am glad someone agrees with me ;-)

It seems to me like the inherent lack of adjustability make the RS set up not as enticing as the motons. Especially since I still use the car on the street somewhat.

except for the fact that with the motons your just changing the dampening/spring rate. The RS is enticing as it is designed and engineered by Porsche perfectly for this car...the geometry change really makes the difference as I am told that the ride on the rs is actually softer than stock, yet handles much better. Add motons after the fact if adjustable dampening is an issue

On GT3s, however, there is a major drawback: While it is said that street compliance can improve with Motons, your ground clearance will suffer. Due to the shorter shock bodies, they want to be run lower than stock to work properly otherwise you'll top out the shocks.

I should have some first hand knowledge soon.
I believe you, but find it hard to imagine that the Motons have a shorter stroke than what is on the GT3 now. What were they designed for, as not much else, Porsche-wise, sits lower than or has less suspension travel than a GT3?
