918, LaFerrari, or P1
I have been following the development of the 918 closely and it seems they do not have a lot of orders yet. I think the competition with the LaFerrari and P1 is not helping as many of the targeted buyers are opting for the two other cars. This guys writes for EVO and has placed an order for a P1 over the 918:

These are exotic cars that 99.9% of us here will not buy.
To say one is better than the other is purely subjective personal preference.
I will take any one of them if given to me for free, but will not pay my money for any of them.
My GT3RS is my supercar and has more than enough performance for me to use, plus it is a manual.

If I had the money I would go for the LaFerrari between the three. Although, I am starting to like the older cars more than the new ones. No surprise that my all time favorite car is the 512BB........................
As for the Porsches, they have become way to expensive for what you get and what they are. On the other hand, Ferrari makes more money by selling key chains and jackets than they do selling cars. So a toss up as to new cars.
OK, I veered off topic. Sorry'o

i recently received a packet of information from Porsche about the 918 and how i could go about the ordering process.
if they are offering the 918 to riff raff like me, you should definitely go for one of the other two

If you order one now, McLaren will include three fellas to help move the car when it won't start.

Sometimes lol!
I ventured outside of Porsche with a Viper once and then a Lamborghini.
Both cars are fine machines in their on rights but just not for me.
If I had the 918 I'd have to drive it and it looks like it would be more
expensive than an ex wife. Ferrari has a fine racing heritage and the
few that I've driven were exhilarating ( excepting the 308 ) but I'm
an Alabama hillbilly and it's like putting a pig in an Armani suit.
