looking at a GT3RS - anyone familiar w/it?

I am looking into possibly purchasing this car but would like to know a little more. The dealership seems to know very little about it.

http://www.ecarlist.com/showroom/4322/photos/9345194

It is basically an 07' GT3RS with ceramic brakes, no cage and a very...uh...bright color. The car was fully painted. I know the price reflects that paint job (negatively) and I am also taking that into consideration.

If anyone has information or lives in the Houston area and can check this car out, that would be great.

Thanks!!

updated: never mind - had someone stop by to look at the car for me and confirmed the paint is very poor with peeling found already on certain spots and overspray all over the engine bay... : /
up for grabs!

Pretty much they did a 997.1 to 997.2 conversion. Personally I would think that detracts value from the car.

How much are they asking?

this car has been for sale for a while, and was on ebay as well and the dealer/seller even posted videos of them flogging it around town (i dont know why they think that would help sell it, no one wants to see someone else flooring a car they want to buy). Things i would check are was the car involved in any major collisions, is the title clear still, etc. As for the updated .2 parts, are they all OEM or aftermarket? When it comes to fitting .2 parts on a .1 car, you will get mixed feedback, some hate it, some think its a nice refresh, just a matter of personal preference. If you like it buy it and dont worry what others think, you are buying the car for you, not for them. If it were me, i wish they didnt do the paint scheme on the interior that they chose to do, it cheapens the look of the interior, but again, thats my 2 cents.

all checks clear on carfax (yes, I know) and on the insurance reports. I do agree on a lot of aspects...I would have never painted the trim interior pieces and a lot of them seem to not fit too well after taking them off (look at the cup holders) and door trim.

They are asking $ 94k for it...I think $ 90k would be fair since I am probably going to end up wrapping all the interior pieces to black carbon anyway and having to address other little annoyances. I would feel better about getting a hold of the previous owner to get more specific feedback.

Saw this car at COTA in June, but no real comment other than at first glance it fooled me! I thought it was a .2 RS, was confused by the 5 lug (a conversion maybe?), then saw the old interior/radio. Didn't get a close look as he was driving away.

Why not get an unmoletsed .1rs for similar $. I wouldn't touch this thing.

^This. You can easily get a nice 997.1 GT3RS for that money.

All the money they spent on the mods on this car did not add a single cent to the value of the car.

that is a bastardized example ... no way worth 90k
But perfect for those that want to add a Ducktail to a GT3

Too bad.

Just think of the money someone spent on that mess.

Haven't seen any .1 RSs listed at less than 100k, many listed over 120k.
