2011 GT3 just purchased and need some advice !

Traded my Maserati GT MC in yesterday on a 2011 GT3 with 128 miles, purchased from Geoff at Isringhausen, great young guy. I'll post some pictures soon. Question, I'm planning on swapping the OE Pilots to a dedicated wheel for track days. Heavily leaning to the OZ. Ultraleggera in grey, good value, but I'm wondering if I'm better to step up and by the Superforgiata's. The price delta is significant, 4400 bucks difference. Advice would be appreciated. I spoke with. Damon yesterday at Tire Rack and will be heading there tomorrow am to purchase.

Thanks!

Larry

Forget 19s if you are looking to track. 18s perform better and you have a much better selection of tires. CCW 18x9 and 18x12 is a fantastic forged track wheel set up. Nitto NT01 in a 245/40 and 305/35/18 is a great track tire if you don't wanna burn through Hoosiers.

Yep for track forget 19"...Order from Tire Rack the OZ Challenge 9x18 and 12x18 and then get a set of Nitto NT01 245/40/18 and 305/35/18.

OR

If you are just starting out at the track...stay on the street tires for a while...until you are solo.

ENJOY!

CCW doesn't make centerlocks for street GT3. I just bought a set of finspeed wheels. Daniel is really great to work with. If you are looking for a strong and light forged wheel in 18 or 19 he can make you a set that are really nice. They will also be about $2000 cheaper than the Superforgiata.
If you are just starting out tracking, go with Michelin Super Sports for now.
If you know you want to go to 18's the OZ Challenge is a good bang for the buck, supersports not available in 18 though.

I ended up buying a set of HRE P 40S, finished in black. Although they are not 18s I just couldn't pass them up!

forget the 19's.

BBS, Forgeline or Finspeeds are top notch. On a slight budget OZ's are a nice alternative.

Great idea to have a track set of wheels/tires...

Be careful with OZ and make sure they clear the calipers.
Forgelines are excellent.

My advice...switch to 5-lugs and get a set of 18in CCW's
