...i have been at the ring with other cars but not yet with the GT - well, i have an "appointment" later this year for a private course there, hope weather will still be fine then.
riding the GT on the ´ring is quite different than with all the other cars, a friend of mine who owns a GT lost it in summer time due to cold tires, he wasn´t going fast he said, just wanted to show one of his buddies the track but the GT needs at least 2.4bars on all four tires to provide optimum grip and without that she can be quite beastly - thank god no one was injured but the car needed a 100k repair work afterwards

...the GTs "homeland" is Leipzig race track, we´ve been there at least 5 to 6 times that summer - of course countless enjoyable hours on the autobahn with NO speed limits - maybe it´s of interest for some - the GT is good for ( all digital numbers ! ) 328km/h without roof panels, 342 with panels on and 352 on a long stretched downhill section comming from Leipzig heading south...

Was that 218 on the CGT speedo? I ask because Evo maxxed out the CGT on the authobahn in one of their magazines, and an onboard testing device read 206 MPH but the speedo in the car read 217 MPH.

personally i think the production cars should be a bit faster than all the cars out of the press pool the mags, etc got...
they all have pre-production parts installed and the so calles "press finish" meaning that they are heavier than the final production version and in combination with the final parts adn "110% rule" for a production engine out of Zuffenhauen i think the GPS-measured value should be something around 340km/h so 5 to 10km/h faster than in the specs and tested by the mags...
...i just read it again and i think i can remember the EVO test was done by the black GT with a german "AW-...." plate - am i right here - ??? - this is a customer car from a guy from england who stores his car right next to the Nordschleife in the workshop of Olaf Manthey, a well known german tuner, i know the autobahn where they tested the GT quite good, it´s a brand new one with some really good straights, to say it, many many manufacturers testing during industry pool sessions at the Nordschleife are doing their high speed testing on that specific autobahn but there´re better straights comming down from Leipzig where one can "easily" go 320+
